Is that what they said on the wireless?

Look I think you can make a case for them all being solid yesterday. SOme were excellent, others were very good others floated in and out

I will be honest though I hardly noticed Daniel, I thought his disposal was better this week (though he continues to miss targets 30 metres away when under no pressure) as was his defensive pressure and I suppose you can say solid is a reasonable assessment but I would say he was in the top 6-10 players

Well WP thats what I heard while listening to the radio and I heard his name mentioned quite a bit and didn't hear him turn the ball over, so yeah good game I suppose. Maybe you didn't notice him because you were not looking out for him.

Yeah, from the radio call you got the impression that conners played a pretty solid game, without too many turnovers
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Let me clarify I didn't say turnovers, I mentioned he missed targets and there is a difference

A turnover to me is when you dispose of the ball and it results in the opposition gaining possession of the ball

Not hitting targets is just that but it doesn't always result in turnovers.

I could give you multiple examples yesterday of blokes not hitting targets but they didn't result in turnovers.

Nahas did it twice in the first 10 minutes of the game - he had the ball and was under little prssure , had a team-mate 20-30 metres up the ground 10-15 metres clear of his opponent and the kick dropped 5 metres short. Was it a turnover? No but did it increase on his team-mate you bet it did and that's what I am talking about. Those types of kicks need to be eradicated and to be honest I reckon under no pressure there is little if any excuse for not hitting up your team-mate

Connors had I think it was Matin clear on the wing (say 20 metres away) and under no pressure he kicked it over Martin's head. Was it turnover no fortunately as there were others backing up but it created more pressure in the contest and gave the Cats players more time to cover the Tiger players.

Fair enough.
I suppose thats a good sign in itself that they were capable of preventing these errors from becoming turnovers, but yeah, they need to be eliminated.

Possibly a good sign but it depends on how much defensive pressure the cats were putting on though and whether they were playing with enough intensity to make us pay for our mistakes

Hey WP I noticed in another thread you didn't seem to rate Connors... yet again. ;D. But you thought Edwards was better, and then I read the forums and the papers and all seem to say that Connors was one of our best. Are you annoyed that your mate Polo isn't in or that Edwards is actually no good and you have been talking them both up over Connors over the pre season or what??

Other people including the media were at the the game and they rated Connors, has he got a photo of you with a goat or what.. :thumbsup :thumbsup :lol :lol ;D ;D

Joking, please don't ban me... ::)

Blind leading the blind by the sounds of things.  Since when has the media been reliable?

Connors would have got in the best because the blind heard he got it a lot and then saw he was our highest possession winner.  An easy inclusion.

Pity Connors' skills were not up to scratch and his defensive work was deplorable.

It was no coincidence Leppitch was giving Connors an absolute bake at three quarter time assumingly for being the laziest prick standing around in the backline, and yes that includes Edwards.

Edwards might be a stick but his disposal, willingness to have a go in traffic and his defensive effort was far beyond Connors on Thursday night.  Edwards was average, Connors was more average.

So if I am actually reading what you say right, how about watching the game before sprouting opinions about who was go and who wasn't on the night?

Connors is still the fairy we know, thinking he's a level above what he is.  Until someone tears down that ego and makes him care about the club instead of himself he'll never make it.

connors still makes the wrong decisions and is another jackosn by foot

was pretty bad in his decision making out of defence and needs to be dropped

possessions mean nothing

ppl think we will be better with foley, no way having foley and jakson in the team, both ae shocking by foot, will be disaster

I must have watched a different game, thought Connors was one of our best.
