* RFC denial - that's not right. It's true. Club has spoken to Ben on more than one occasion. She's not happy they just counselled him.

* Believes the Club are denying it because it's not good publicity for Richmond and they don't want this story coming out. West Coast denied Ben's troubles for years. His drinking is a fact and you (Healy and Russell) know me better than to write a story like this if this wasn't true or write something that didn't come from more than one source.

* Maybe the Club didn't use the term binge drinking but that he shouldn't be drinking at all. Came to light to/from? Richmond people in February. She was preparing a story about Ben one year on at Punt Rd and whether it's been a success. It was a question about what impact hardick was having at the club?  

I was just busily typing her answers while I was listening. The question was something about what impact Hardwick has had so far and it also followed on from Healy's response to the 3-0-75 plan.

Going by her article in the Age her source is an ex-employee of last year (that narrows it down a bit). She would also have her usual old-Richmond coterie group links.

torch - we have no idea (neither does Caro) what has caused the stomach problems that forced Ben into hospital - they have been running tests. Until those results come through it is pure speculation on everyones part. Let's just wait for the results

Look at the end of the day who really cares?
This is quite simply a muckraking article about selling papers.
If it was anyone other than Ben Cousins the celebrity I doubt anyone would give a stuff.

Primarily the punt on Benny by Wallet, Sheeds and co. was to lift us into the 8 in 2009 but ultimately it didn't pay off.
The hard facts are Cousins will be long retired when our club rises again.

Some leadership qualities aside he is really there at a time when it's of little consequence and his contribution to the RFC will end up being a trivia question somewhere down the line.

We need to start looking at life beyond Ben Cousins.
