* March 19, 2010RICHMOND is almost certain to introduce three debutants against Carlton next Thursday night at the MCG in the opening game of the season.
The Tigers' list of newcomers will be headed by ready-made teenage midfielder Dustin Martin, Richmond's first selection in last year's national draft and No 3 overall.
Also in line for their first games are small forwards Ben Nason, 18, who could be one of the bargains of last year's November draft as he was secured with pick No 71, and Relton Roberts, 23, who was a mature-age selection in the rookie draft.
Nason's season appeared in jeopardy when he hurt a knee in the opening round of the NAB Cup against Hawthorn. Richmond medical staff feared an anterior cruciate ligament problem, but scans revealed he sustained bone bruising.
Roberts, who impressed Tigers recruiting manager Francis Jackson when representing the Northern Territory in the QAFL last season, has been elevated from the club's rookie list.
Also new to Richmond against the Blues will be former Port Adelaide defender Mitch Farmer, who was traded by the Power in October in return for Jay Schulz. Farmer played three games for Port Adelaide in his debut season in 2008, but none last year.
Missing for the Tigers will be Nathan Foley, Ben Cousins ??? and the suspended Jake King.
