I havent really been for or against Edwards in the past, but he has to go back to Coburg. No confidence whatsoever.

Farmer, Thursfield, Moore
Webberley, McGuane, Newman
Collins, Deledio, Tambling
Astbury, Riewoldt, Cousins
Taylor, Polak, Morton

Vickery, Cotchin, Martin

Tuck, Jackson, Polo, Nason

Ins:
Cousins, Newman, Webberly, Polo, McGuane
Outs:
Post, Rance, Edwards, Hislop, Simmonds

I'd play Tuck as a 2nd ruckman. No1 is going to beat Sandilands. Have someone contest like Tuck and have 4 midfielders against 3 and a ruck. We just simply wont beat Sandilands with anyone.
Go Tigers!

In the Mix.....

Richmond

The three debutants from round four will play this week after coach Damien Hardwick promised they would stay. Matt White looks set for a run at Coburg after just 21 touches in his two games, while Ben Cousins and Luke McGuane should come straight back into the side after a club suspension. Troy Simmonds has been struggling in the ruck, but the Tigers have no viable player to promote, with both Angus Graham and Andrew Browne struggling in the VFL.

Aside from having no spring left in his legs, Simmonds will be absolutely LOST trying to keep up with play on the wide open spaces of Subiaco.
Despite poor form at Coburg, Richmond has to bite the bullet and promote Graham and Browne, and get a three-way ruck rotation happening.

Bring in Polak for ruck duties around the ground,  aside from that the usual 5 or 6 changes due to deplorable skills and application. :rollin Expecting webberley to get his first game and show us what run he's got on the wide open spaces of subi.

Polak would be w-a-a-y too short to compete against Sandilands. At least Browne and Graham are seriously big units. Maybe a promotion would be what's needed to bring out the best in them, instead of languishing in the two's.
I agree with Webberley though. Keep bringing in the kids.

Polak is only about 2cms shorter than simmonds, the fact simmonds cant get off the ground means he has no chance of competing with sandilands either, and we all know how rubbish he is arouind the ground these days, Polak would at least be able to run around and get kicks as a follower. Just throwing it out there, I firmly believe simmo shouldn't play seniors again, and bringing in polak for his first game back at the city of his birth would be a good motivator for him

Ive been calling for Polly to come in for a while as a second follower, he can take a grab and will compete that's two up on what simmo is capable of.

At worst Browne should come in, and I don't want to hear he has been much chop at coburg, I bet simmo wouldn't be either :o

Polak is in fact 4cm shorter than Simmonds. I also said in an earlier post that Simmonds should be dropped for Graham and Browne in a 3 way rotation, as he can get neither off the ground, nor around it.
Just as a matter of interest, Sandilands is a freakish 211cm, while Polak is 193, and Simmonds is 197. Browne at 203, and Graham at 201 are as close as we can get to matching this giraffe for height.

actually simmo is 196cm and Polak 194cm (pro stats) but I'm not ging to argue about 1 or 2 cm's, the crux of the argument is to have a ruckman that can give us something around the ground as a follower hence the suggestion. No matter who competes at the centre square sandilands will monster that particular contest. We agree that simmo must go, I guess we've got all season to see a number of different rotations through the ruck, hopefully we find something that can work in the future

I know Polak doesn't have the biggest leap, but Simmo's lack of ability to get off the ground with his bad knee means Polak would be about as much chance of making up that 1-2cm height difference.
