Tuck and Simmonds should have their papers stamped.
« on: April 19, 2010, 11:17:00 PM »
Discussed just now on FC by Lyon & Caro.
I agree 100%.

Simmonds a waste of space & Tuck was absolutely appalling again on Sunday.

Can't see any point whatsoever in giving either another game for the year.

Maybe Browne needs to come in for Simmo regardless of his form, throw him in the deep end and make him work. Webberly could come in for Tuck, we just can't keep bringing in players like King and the like, they are not the future.

Gourdis IMO also needs to have a chance, find some way and promote him. Leave Roberts in and the new gamers from the weekend, but stop bringing in the hacks and get rid of the current ball killers and the turnover champions.

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

No doubt simmonds is in his last year of AFL football. Not doing much at the moment but the options dont seem to be doing much to justify selection. I think we are just stuck with that at the moment.

Tuck, appalling?. I get the impression that is just a deep set negative opinion that will never change, surfacing.
Hardwick seems to be quite happy with the way Tuck is performing the task being given to him at the moment. Will be interesting to see if he finishes the year in the seniors or at Coburg. That will give a good indication to his future.

WTF would 'Caro' know, she is a stuffing journo and has carved her existence from having a leak inside Richmond, her tactical nous could be wiped onto a stuffing sheet of toilet paper and be about as valuable, equally her evaluation of players.  Lyons is a Richmond hating ponce and can bash sand up his clacker.  Tuck did his job, Simmonds is getting slower no doubt, but Tuck did what was asked of him in a new role, second game in it IMHO.  I think you will find the coaching staff agree.

Tuck, appalling?.

Yes. I have watched him closely the past two weeks. The stats are not indicative of his output.
More often than not when he is involved in the play it does not go to our advantage.
He is an absolute liability out there doing more harm than good. Coburg it should be.

I agree MM, I was groaning at his disposal constantly on Sunday - I thought he was a real liability with his disposal.  He just kept kicking poorly and without thought - turning our possession into a contest or their possession.  Getting a heap of disposals was a waste because far too many of them went to our disadvantage and it has been the knock on him forever.  He might be more defensively minded this year but he must greatly improve his thinking with the ball if he is to be worth keeping.

People calling for Tuck to be axed is a joke
if he was that bad,   ? why does he find his own ball ? why is he the highest possession winner of any Richmond player on the day
Get some harder working players around him to help him out might just take some preasure off the bloke,  cause you wont find a harder worker on game day
Can also tell you all Tuck is a required player  ;D
Too many joggers & passengers at Richmond. many have not been taken to the vomit stage lately or ever been near it
Let me down there training them,   l swear Ben Holland can run harder & longer than most of them & thats a statement
They are pathetic to watch when they aint got the ball

Tuck was ordinary at times when kicking under pressure the other night, but he certainly has a few mates. On the other hand he managed to find a teammate clear by hand on a number of occasions which enabled the ball to be cleared from the back line ( until the next turnover  :P).

I saw his ledger in the positive and would have him in the side before Jackson, thompson, nahas and probably Hislop. Jackson in particular  simply has overall poor disposal/decision making, even when not under pressure.

Hardwick said he was "very very happy" with Tuck the other night, so I suppose he also thinks the benefits outweigh the down side, for now.

An absolute butcher of the ball as our leading disposal winner. :banghead

I could care less about stats. He's hopeless.

Just love these people who have never seen Gus or Browne at Coburg calling for them to replace Simmo. :rollin :rollin :rollin :rollin

Simmo's knee is stuffed. He doesn't train except to do the ruck taps and even then he doesn't get far off the ground. Sad he is forced to play on when his body is saying enough just because we didn't recruit a replacement ruckman 5-8 years ago  ::) in readiness to takeover rather than hoping teenage rucks can step in.

Cut McMahon first please.

At least you can see Tucky and Simmo giving there all.

McMahon is a soft, outside forward running girl whose great 'disposal' goes missing under any sort of pressure. If you are trying to send a message to the young playing group, getting rid of McMahon might incur a cost (that we are going to pay in installments anyway) but sends a message that being soft and unaccountable leads you swiftly to the door marked 'EXIT'
