I remember Winderlich killing us last year at Dreamtime.

Was instrumental in their third quarter resurgence bringing them back from 4 goals down to lead by 2 goals at 3 quarter time. Lovett and Lovett Murray were taking speccies that night like they were playing in the schoolyard.

The crows have the wood on us . Believe our best chance is Essendon.

Agree

Would think we are a real show against the Bombers

Ports the interesting one - we always seem to have close games against the Power. I've always recekoned it's because they start games off showing us little respect and it bites them  ;D

Hard to see us getting close to winning any game at the moment but it would be ironic if we ended the careers of two opposition coaches in the space of a month  :o.

The only thing in our favour is we've played top 9 sides so far based on the current ladder - Carl, Dogs, Syd, Melb, Freo and now Geelong. Playing Adelaide and Essendon is a drop down in class and confidence levels.

Adelaide has lost after a showdown the past 3 times but they won 6 straight after a showdown prior to that. I think the WA derby affects Freo and the Eagles moreso than the SA showdown.

Crows - no Dangerfield is another injury blow for them. They've been struggling to put a decent score on the board like us - 72, 55, 41, 75 and 62. Both sides haven't scored 80 points or more so far this year. If we get a strong start against them as we did against Freo it will make things interesting. Mind you our record at Footy Park is rubbish unlike Subi recently.

Hawks - they won't have to worry as much about not having a ruck division against us compared to other sides. Similarly their weak defence is up against our weak forward line. We just don't have the players in positions to expose their weaknesses.

Bombers - their no defence gameplan suits us because it doesn't put us constantly under pressure meaning we don't cough up the ball so readily. No coincidence our best effort and best skill level by far last year was against Essendon. It'll be a question if we can sustain enough pressure on them to force them into mistakes. So far we've struggled to even sustain pressure for even two quarters.

Port - no chance. We'll get flogged by 10 goals plus.

We may have to wait until R16 (North) or R18 (Adel at the 'G) to get our first win  :-\

The Crows seem to be suffering continuous injury issues this year, and they just don't look dangerous. IMO, this game is our best shot for the first win

Hawks - they won't have to worry as much about not having a ruck division against us compared to other sides. Similarly their weak defence is up against our weak forward line. We just don't have the players in positions to expose their weaknesses.

Again they just don't look dangerous this year. Hawthorn have been one of the biggest disappointments of the year IMO. We are not completely out of this game either

Second best chance for our first win would be this game, Essendon are only going to get worse this year IMO

Port - no chance. We'll get flogged by 10 goals plus.
No way, this will be a close game for at least 2-3 quarters. I expect us to lose, but only by maybe 3-4 goals, not 10.

Agree. We need Martin and Cotch back next week though to pull it off.

I don't disagree with what you say about Hawthorn and I can't believe Clarkson risked Roughead in the ruck last week to the point Roughead could have done his knee :o. It's just I don't see us being any better in the areas they are weak in (ruck and defence). Simmo and Vickery would have to have a day out against Renouf so our mids had first use of the footy and likewise Jack, Morton, Nahas, Rance or whoever if playing forward would have to have day outs for us to get even close to winning. Also our ball movement and use out of the backline isn't up to scratch to penetrate a cluster zone. We saw in the NAB Cup how they ripped us to shreds feeding off our turnovers :P.

Second best chance for our first win would be this game, Essendon are only going to get worse this year IMO
Let's hope so  :thumbsup. An upset would create turmoil at Windy Hill lol.

Port are a mediocre side rather than a crap struggling side. They are superior to the other three teams above and they'll be pushing for that last spot in the top 8. Their smalls will carve us up on the spread sadly especially at Footy Park.

Adelaide players will be pretty devastated after leading the showdown by 7 points at 3/4 time and then coughing up 5 goals in 10 minutes to lose again. Will we catch them on a downer?

Someone should also tell the AFL site that the Crows are also cellar-dwellers  :wallywink

"while the Crows will be hoping to open their account with a win over cellar-dweller Richmond at AAMI Stadium on Sunday."

Glad bombers beat hawks. Less pressure on bombers. Bombers have been very inconsistent. Hopefully that inconsistency will continue

Andrew Welsh was given 4 weeks from the Match Review Panel 3 weeks if he accepts an early guilty plea thus leaving him suspended for the Dreamtime Game in Round 9. This represents our best chance for a win in the first half of the season.

These 3 weeks are the RFCs 2010 Finals series.

If they win one out of the three they should release info on salary cap breaches and finish the year early.
