Tambling/Edwards
« on: April 30, 2010, 09:28:12 AM »
Saw Tambling on the Marngrock FS on NITV last night.

Impressive young man is Richie.

Anyway, Gilbert McAdam asked him why Shane Edwards doesn't play midfield seeing he's so 'skilful'.

Richie replied that we need Edwards off half-back as our quarter-back because he can set-up so much attack.

IMO Edwards only possible position is as a small forward. He's too small to play HB as once he's caught in traffic he doesn't have the size and strength to stand-up or break a tackle and still get an attacking disposal away. Lids has played the 'quarterback' role the past two weeks.

Titch played well on the wing / hff last week.  Keep him there.

I'm a fan of the move of Lids to the back half.  Put talent into your defense, just like Hodge at hawthorn and Goddard at St Kilda.  Lids will take soem time to work into it but I reckon he could be the heart of a really good defense.  It might increase his physicality in contests too.

Agree with Edwards playing up forward. Continuing playing Brett in the backline. Need to have someone with great skills in the backline.

Tamblings fine, rate him better than Buddy actually, please see last nights game (Hawks vs Bombers) easy goals bar 1, Edwards needs to play every game like he did aganst Freo before I am convinced, God I hope he can.
