1 week suspension with the early plea from the Match Review Panel.

5 year good record helped him out.

Here's the official MRP report...

Dean Polo, Richmond, has been charged with a Level Three striking offence against Richard Douglas, Adelaide Crows, during the fourth quarter of the Round Seven match between Richmond and the Adelaide Crows, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday May 9, 2010.

In summary, his five-year good record means that he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and body contact (one point). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-game sanction. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 126.56 points and a one-game sanction.

Other incidents assessed

Contact between Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt and the Adelaide Crows’ Bernie Vince from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Contact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

Contact between Richmond’s Trent Cotchin and the Adelaide Crows’ Bernie Vince from the second quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. Contact was below that required to constitute a reportable offence.

Contact between the Adelaide Crows’ Scott Thompson and Richmond’s Jack Riewoldt from the fourth quarter of Sunday’s match was assessed. On the vision that was available to assess the incident, the panel said that Thompson had begun a tackling motion but did not continue with his tackle once Riewoldt disposed of the ball. No further action was taken.

He can't afford to get suspended too many times his career is already in the balance.

It was childish, and stupid and the only reason Polo did it was because he stuffed up and was beaten the whole game by every Adelaide opponent he had. It was just a frustrated, tantrum-style reaction like a little kid who hits his sibling because he's not getting his way. Drop him after his suspension for a game or two, we don't need that attitude rubbing off on the 1st & 2nd year players.

some of you need to watch the game at the ground instead of the TV.
you see 100 hits like that in a game. Most of them cheap shots.
l praise Polo for doing such a thing, should have done it in the 3rd quarter cause his player left the ground.
He knew he was getting beaten & l like to see player let thier frustrations out.
Dont tell me every footy player on this forum aint done something like that ever on the field & bragged about it later

Monk when your ready to join us all in the modern era, let us know. That may have been accepted back in the 70's but not now.

Every player cops a week for that and has been for 4 years (Unless your Goodes lol).

Its stupid and shows no discipline.

you obviously dont watch football properly. Them type of punches are given out before the ball even gets bounced.  Many times during the game YES in today modern football. Only the Richmond players are often sited & suspended or dont you know that. Maybe l will get Geoff to write it down on a peice of paper for you,  cause he absolutely hates Richmond.

l watch every game every week & see blantant punches in front of the umpires & we even talked about it in one of the threads recently.   Most agreed, so l watch my football  but l dont know what your watching.
Take your eyes off the TV & get down to the games more often & you might see more out of screen action.  ;D press your red button follow Cousins or Jackson all game  :rollin
