If it was only a joke Jack and you never made your dislike for our current coach and his strategies/game plan/methods over a multitude of other threads no one would have blinked an eye lids and perhaps even had a laugh. This is not a flippant joke to you though Jack if your past threads are anything to measure your opinion by - you genuinely appear to believe Hardwick should be doing better at this point than he is.

For mine his and our teams development and success is on the right track but only patience and time will tell

they only scored 1 goal from our kick ins so i guess they were that disastrous

there is nothing wrong with kicking long to a contest when the back fifty is flooded and zoned by the opposition. kicking long to a contest near the boundary is the next best option and that is not why we lost

we tanked

what is hardwick gonna say ...we tanked, we switched off , i manipulated the structures to get us pumped..of course not

bailey and ratten never did

so hardwick keeps saying poo like we lack mental toughness , we run out of legs , we arnt good enough

we cant be that bad , we for 3 quarters had super high intensity and were in the game , we switched off bec we wanted too.

a win v the hawks is on the cards bec it wont effect our ladder position

I agree the kick in ploy seems to be a flawed strategy but X may be right - at least is clears the zone and gives us a chance to run the ball quickly down to the forward line.... :-\ Perhaps Hardwick doesn't have faith in our backmen's foot skills to get through the zone so thinks kicking long may be a better option. I'm sure this is being addressed but perhaps Hardwick understands that we need more players moved into the backline who can execute better by foot but until then the long kick is the better strategy. I'm only speculating of course but it does seem ugly at the moment I agree.

The game plan is working towards adopting the defensive zone but is currently more about individual development and education than overall team strategy. The coaches are attempting to 'find' players at the moment and are throwing people all over the field to attempt to discover what works best for them and for over team structure.

Hardwick will need time. Don't judge him on the back of his first 7 games but when the team starts to settle and his development of the team starts to become more obvious. At the moment he is trying to fast track the whole lists development which is particularly difficult when the footy world doesn't wait for success but demands it immediately. We just have to forget aiming to win at all costs this year and hope that by next year we can switch our attention back to that once we become more settled.

Don't think people were biting due to your original post, jacko.

Think that's the one they're going on about.
