I haven't checked recently, however from memory, his stats last year were comparable to someone like Max Rooke

i can pretty safely say your wrong champ.

Rooke's best work aint in the kicks or handballs its the hard stuff, tackling, blocking and above all running goals.

I find it laughable to even put Rooke and Hislop in the same breath to be honest, but thats me

Absolute spud. He is one of the worst footballers I have ever seen play at Tigerland.
Another wasted draft pick.

2009 Averages Comparison

Averages at 21 Years of Age

Looks pretty similar to me, while Hislop is slightly behind on 2009 comparisons, you are comparing a 21 year old to a 28 year old.
At the same age Hislop is ahead

Rooke only looks so good because he's got great players around him to protect.

In reality he's an ordinary player that is in the team because he is willing to do everything and anything to protect his teammates before getting the ball himself.

On an ordinary team like ours he'd be next to useless.

biggest mistake tiger supporters continue to make is saying he is ahead  of player X at the same age, 3 years ago on bf, clowns were telling me that at the same age tambling was ahead of mcleod, yeah that went well....:rollin  with a lot of players there is often an intangible that can't be measured with stats and thats IMPACT. Find it hard to see Hislop going on to be better than or equal to Rooke, stats not withstanding....

Tony, I only mentioned and used stats because they had already been brought up as evidence that he's no good

we were talking about 2009 am i right not when they were 21 years of age or their averages at TAC level.

Hislop is a hack of the highest order, and stats prove that as has been pointed out. Many tackles last year did he get? how many goals?

Ooh and just for the record whoever on here said Rooke is average, well Rooke is a 2 time premiership player and that my friend is the bottom line.

If we had a few Rooke types, instead of Matthew Stokes/Fantasy island lookalikes we might not get pushed over as easily as we do.

i'll pick Rooke over Hislop any day.
being in a much better team makes he looks better then he would in our team yes, but still i would rather him then Hislop.

If they were the same age I'd pick Rooke.

At Rooke's age I'd call it a dead heat.

Totally agree with Daniel. Besides if you are playing in the forward line you need to kick goals. Hislop does not. The amount of clangers Hislop has is laughable. Morton can kick a bag. Would rather Rooke anyday to Hislop.

Hislop should have kicked 8 against the Hawks in the NAB cup. Maybe that's why he's back?

He did play well against the Hawks in that game apart from his inaccurate kicking.

Hardwick would know the Hawks gameplan inside out, maybe Hislop is a guy that can help unravel it.

He's on an extended bench anyway, so he might not even play.
And you may not think I care for you

I provided both stats for some balance, it's not fair to compare a senior 28 year old to a 21 year old's output
Their stats last year were very similar
