Morale remains strong, says Tambling
The Age
May 19, 2010 - 1:02PM

Richmond midfielder Richard Tambling says morale remains strong at the AFL club despite their barren start to the season.

The Tigers are yet to win after eight games, losing to Hawthorn by only three points on the weekend.

Their next opponent will be Essendon in Saturday night's annual Dreamtime At The 'G match, which pays tribute to the game's strong indigenous influence.

"It's the first time we've put four quarters together and I think the boys were pretty happy with that," Tambling said of the Hawthorn game.

"But at the same time, we're disappointed to come so close to a win.

"We're trying to build winning behaviours around the club, so we're going to keep the morale up."

Saturday's match is seen as a strong chance for Richmond to break their losing run, given Essendon's form has been inconsistent.

Tambling, one of the game's top indigenous players, said Saturday night would be big for himself personally and the Tigers.

"It's definitely an important game, it's probably the marquee game of the year for Richmond," he said.

"For myself, it's a really important game, it represents the past and present indigenous players and what they've done within the AFL."

Good on you Tambling, remain positive mate, it will come.
DIMMA - You will be held ACCOUNTABLE...

“We are really excited about what we have brought in. We have got great depth of players that can take us where we need to go. We are just putting some cream on the top at the moment,” he said.

lol if hes one of the games top indigenous players it would hardly make any of them worthwhile recruiting in the first place.
imo hes lucky it is dream time at the g, i can think of no other reason why they would gift him a game this week. he certainly hasnt earnt one.

similar to JON a few years back. Lets be honest the only reason they get recalled is because they are indigenous.

He hasn't earnt a game all year IMO

Rambling needs to concentrate on his game and leave the media to someone else. Shane Edwards shouldve been at the presser, Tambling needs to get back to basics.
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

just jusjust this week but for most of the yr. did he keep his spot because its the indigenous game.

Sorry Claw so are you saying that you wan't Tambling in or out?? If you wan't him out and Post in then I can't figure you out mate, regardless if it's the Dreamtime game or not. Tambling deserves to be in the side instead of Post IMO.

YOU'RE PROBABLY RIGHT. HE WILL FINALLY RUN AND CARRY AND RUN AND DO ALL THE THINGS WE HAVE EXPECTED AND HOPED FOR ALL THESE YEARS. UNFORTUNATELY IT WILL BE WATCHING HIM IN A DIFFERENT COLOURED JUMPER. >:(

hmm did i mention post on this thread.  i am saying tambling should be dropped.  it should have happened weeks ago and he should hasve been made to earn a spot by playing solid consistant footy at coburg.

as for j post yep play him. give him a block of games  unlike tambling whos in yr 6 and should be making a significant contribution each week despite form, post is in yr two and is expected to be all over the shop.
t vickery has been ordinary all yr but i dont see people calling for his head. even though 8 games in he does need a short stint at coburg.

the difference between playing tambling and post is. one is in full on development and the other is supposed to a leader. poor performance by development players so early into their careers is inevitable and must be tolerated to a degree. players like tambling well there is no excuses for him. 6 yrs in and we are still gifting him games after many shoddy performances on end.

the thing is if tambling was to go i would be replacing him with a like for like player.take your pick of mids and small medium defenders any one  in this category would be better atm.
