Josh Fraser to Richmond?
« on: May 20, 2010, 09:48:48 PM »
Well according to Crackers Keenan in Inside Football :whistle

Fraser might get punted

They have started already – the rumours about likely player movements next year. Josh Fraser will head off to Richmond. He’s supposedly out of favour with the coach-in-waiting at Collingwood, Nathan Buckley. The other big whisper is that Shaun Higgins has been targeted by the Gold Coast. The longer the season goes the more these little stories will pop up. But it does seem like Fraser might be on the outer at Collingwood and with Jolly there in the first ruck and a few young blokes developing, including the young American Seamus McNamara, it may be time for Fraser to look elsewhere.

Oh FFS no, not the way forward and we decided against him in a trade a few years ago didn't we?? If we pick him up it goes against our recruiting policy to date.... surely!!

Our coach is not Terry therefore has brains. Josh can keep walking.

He is a dud of the highest order. I would rather Trent Knobel back than him.
Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Didn't we take Knobel instead of Fraser a few years ago?

Absolutely not. We are better off without a ruckman than trading for Fraser.

Agree with WAT and Daniel wholeheartedly. Good points by both lads. :thumbsup

Better than who? Cotchin, Martin, Foley, Riewoldt, Cousins, Deledio? Fraser would not be in our best dozen let alone the half dozen I have mentioned.

I wouldn't even trade McMahon for him
We may get a 3rd rounder from the AFL for him going to Gold Coast

lol at all the harsh calls on here about fraser. while i must admit i dont want him and think him totally the wrong type of ruckman needed  i have to say he would be a massive upgrade on graham. yep i can hear you  all now hes too old and thus short term. well what the stuff is graham if not short term. fraser would be an actual upgrade if only in the interim.

and those who bagged bradshaw  what fools. only performs at a good club etc  brisbane would have done better keeping him over fevola. besides who would we prefer bradshaw or polak. ones a top notch player who knows where to go how to lead and is strong in a contest and the other just plain ordinary, both short term. only one had something to pass onto any kids he may have met.
in fact im livid how the hell can richmond people bag fraser when one looks at the litany of duds we have had go thru our system.

mate its about what we have to give up to get these types of players.

Gus showed a bit last week, but otherwise i follow your sentiments on him. The thing is getting a player like Fraser now means he must play week in week out because we have given up something to get him. Hindering the development of a players like vickery, browne etc.

Put time and effort to finding some bloke from the sticks or someone young bloke from another club. Dont waste your time with a 28 year old bloke who is not exactly a hardline player.

On Bradshaw, he has done okay this year. But is there any real point in having him in our side at all? We rotated Roberts, Rance, Polak, Astbury, Polo, McGuane, Morton etc through the forward line to see what works. Look at where our side will be in round 16/17. Would you have Bradshaw in the fwd line over Reiwoldt, Griffiths, Astbury, Morton? if all are in form? It seems like a waste of a psd pick or whatever he was picked up for, a player that might contribute for a year or two. Or picking up a diamond in the rough that plays in the next premiership. Ill take the chance everytime.
