Biggest Moment in game?
« on: July 10, 2010, 11:06:52 PM »
Can we pick a momemt that one us the game?

The Cotchin tackle on Pavlich that was rewarded with holding the ball in D50?

Stephan Hills miss lol? The interchange blunder..

Riewoldt huge pack mark on the outer wing?

The stoppage king Dustin Martin checkside goal to send us 2 goals up?

I like the Cotchin tackle. Not easy to tackle Pavlich..

Just a superb ending to a game!
Go Tigers!

That interchange blunder by Ballantyne came at the perfect time for us. Freo were coming and we just needed a steadier especially after Kingy 100m away denied Connors a shot at goal. Those interchange calls are killers as all your hard work onfield is stuffed up by those off it. It knocked the wind totally our of Freo's sails. Once Jack took that mark up on the wing I knew we weren't going to lose. Jack telling the rest of the team he wanted to win this. Martin's class banana goal sealed it and Collo's goal was just icing on the cake.

We have been poor most of the year during the 3rd quarter.
Last night it was the 3rd qtr when we worked ourselves into the game, won the qtr and hit the front and never looked back.

I hear Harvey thought the interchange infringement was a "big penalty" virtually implying it cost them the game.

We would've won anyway, the spirit of this team when they have put their noses in front is as strong as Takeover Target - you can't run these bastards down!!!

Andy's goal & the crowd's roar  that almost lifted the roof off the stadium.

Jacko nailing Balantyne when he thought he could go around giving everyone the sh!ts was solid gold.  Shut his poo right down and Balantyne actually looked like he was sorry for all those things he did LOL.  Pavlich ploughing Etihad up with his snot box instead of kicking a gift goal, a cherished moment.
Griffiths booming long goal got me thinking....he is gonna be good with some experience under his belt...
Astbury, another calm mark and goal in a crowd, another first year player they got sooo right...
Too much good stuff to list, too many blokes who did not give up and just ran Freo into the ground.  I think Cousins has taught em something.

This is why Cousins should get another year.
Even when he is not 100% physically he gives 100% effort.  The shear gut running and effort he puts in is showing, not only to our 1st year players its across the whole team. The improvement in the team is across the board and from the coaches down but no one should under estimate Ben’s influence on the team.
One would think there will be a fair bit more youth coming into the team next season.  With Newman, Lids and others in career best form IMO Ben will just add to that, even if he only plays half the season just having him on the field and at training will make a huge difference.

This coming from a guy who first said on here that i didnt want him at the club,  Im more than happy to admit i was wrong.

Watching the reply I have to agree with Gerard Healy.

If Cousins can show he can still play the game and his body is medically sound, with a diluted draft pool from the Gold Coast and the Tigers on the improving and being more competitive you probably have to retain him for the year.
Go Tigers!

I would agree with the Interchange bungle. Completely too the wind out of Freo's sails and halted all the momentum they had built.

Jack's mark and Dusty's checkside goal were also crucial.  :thumbsup
