Apology
« on: July 27, 2010, 06:13:33 PM »
I think everyone should be able to post an opinion without Infamy personally insulting them.

The rules are clear on this and I think He/She should apologise.

from the forum rules...

4.   Personal Attacks: We appreciate that people have different opinions and we encourage people to share their views. However, publicly ridiculing or attacking someone’s character because they do not agree with your view and because they post a view that opposes yours cannot and will not be allowed. Posts of this nature will be removed and the poster warned.

5.   Banning Posters: We take the view that the forum should be fun for everyone. We don’t want to ban anyone from being involved. However, we will have no choice but to ban any members who continually break the rules listed above.

If that rule was enforced as it should be this place would be empty

Doesn't your signature break rule no 4 every time you post.

Is Infamy really a "she" or are you just being as bad as her/him?

Hilarious!
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I like Infamy's posts.
His opinions are clear, and he takes the time to back up his arguments with stats. I find his posts quite informative.
For mine it's a toss up between him and wayne as to who provides the most informative posts on this forum (not counting the 'link' posts that One Eyed posts)

Get over yourself Tigra.

Far worse things have been posted at a far greater frequency than Infamy's post! Whilst i believe OERites should be able to post an opinion without being being labelled a nuffer, being accused of drug taking etc., if we had to apoligise for comments similar to Infamy's then there would be whole lot of lovin' goin on here!

Kevin Rudd made an apology once! Didn't amount to much!

A few points if I may:

1/ We have said many times we (mods) cannot be on the board 24/7. When we are here we review all posts and delete/edited things that breach rules or cross the line legally. This is what we have done in this case

2/ Yes the rules are clear and we have followed them. Regarding Rule No. 4: Personal Attacks - the offending posts have been deleted and posts edited. Posters have been warned - you might remember that there was a public warning to all posters who were insulting other posters to cut out the sniping and personal insults.

3/ Regarding rule 5 Banning posters: I suggest people read it carefully it says " We take the view that the forum should be fun for everyone. We don’t want to ban anyone from being involved. However, we will have no choice but to ban any members who continually break the rules listed above. Continually is a key word here.

4/ Wanting an apology -this issue is between posters (in this case Mr Tigra and Infamy) and as such it should be sorted out privately via PM and should not played out on the main forum. It is not up to the mods to force people to apologise.

5/ As far as we (the mods) are concerned this issue is over and this thread will be locked.

Finally, I find it interesting that posters will quote the site rules to us but have in the past have had trouble adhering to the very same rules they now list in this post.

I will say this again to EVERYONE - stick to the topics and stop with the sniping and insults
