Nearing seasons close -whose papers have been stamped?

The season is almost done & dusted, the list management team would pretty much have worked out whose going and whose staying by now. Who do you think is gonski?

For mine:
Mcmahon
Roberts
Simmonds
Gilligan
Thompson
Polo
King
Cousins (50/50)
Polak (50/50)

That's 7 definites and 2 that could go either way. FTR, I would seriosly consider giving King a 1 year extension on exposed form but have it on good authority that he's already been told earlier in the season his papers are stamped. Funnily enough since then he's been in career best form and has impressed wth his discipline and ability to play a role  :lol

Think that Matty White, Gus Graham, Connors and Tuck have saved/extended their careers proving they have a role to play in the short term at least. Players like Tambling/McGuane would be my trade bait. Nahas on thin ice but will survive for mine purely due to list structure and our lack of fwd pocket crumbers.

After this cleanout there'll be another 7-8 players coming under the spotlight this time next season, don't think its wise to cut another 13-14 at once this season, 8-10 will suffice including trades.

Pretty much agree with your list TM.  Polak gone for sure, going by Hardwick's recent comments King might be safe for another season, Cousins closer to 80/20 staying for 1 more.  Hislop might go also.

Hislop
Thomson
McMahon
Polak
Simmonds
Polo
In danger Nahas, King, Roberts and McGuane. Believe King and McGuane will survive. Don't believe will delist Hicks as only just elevated.

Nahas is going nowhere with us now. He should be on the list as well. We are second last - at least 10 changes are needed.

I agree with most of your list assessment TM -

This is my omission guesses -

List
Simmonds (retired)
McMahon (gone from start of season)
Polo (shown nothing)
Thompson (injuries and form)
Hislop (injuries and form)
Cousins (kept as skills coach)
King (may survive but not in long term plans)
Nahas (dropped away and surpassed)

Rookie List
Gilligan
Roberts
Polak
Gourdis(can't seem to break into the team after 3 years)

Italics names are unlikely possibilities

That would give us between 6-8 choices in the National Draft and 3-4 in the Rookie (assuming Hicks and Browne are kept as rookies) picks.

torch said it on another thread, apart from the 5 wins and the Hawthorn loss, we've been pretty much belted in every game.

I expect some tough and surprising calls to be made.

Bye bye:
Simmonds
Polo
McMahon
Thomson
King
White
Gourdis
Gilligan
Polak
Roberts
Cousins

Trades:
Tambling
Morton
One of McGuane, Thursfield or Rance
Jackson
Nahas

The guys on the trade list would be offered up for trade, it doesn't necessarily mean another team would want them.

First 5 to go without even needing to think about it:
mcmahon
hislop
polak
thomson
nahas

Unsure:
Cousins
Roberts
Polo

Already gone:
simmonds(retired)

Players to trade who are easily covered:
Moore
Polo

Gone
Simmonds (ret)
McMahon
Thomson
Polo
Hislop (delist and re-rookie given the rumours he's staying)
Gilligan (rookie)
Polak (rookie)
Roberts (rookie)

Attempt to trade:
Morton
McGuane
Nahas

I'd suggest that if we can't trade a couple of players out then Cousins will probably be going too
I think Hardwick rates White & King who have played pretty well under Hardwick

Good idea.

I have heard he's staying as well, but sticking him on the rookie list would be the go.

With this draft going to be gc dominated & picks at a premium you would think our cull wouldn't be anything like last yrs
