With this draft going to be gc dominated & picks at a premium you would think our cull wouldn't be anything like last yrs

I have read somewhere that most clubs will go with the min number of picks (3) this year due to Gold Coast picks. To me that says we wont cut anywhere near what some of your are sugesting. I would think that probaly 6 off the list plus some rookies would be about max after last years turnover. That is unless we can trade for some decent picks but I cant see much of that.

For Me

Gone
Simmonds (ret)
McMahon
Thomson
Polo (atempt to trade but dont like the chances)
King
Hislop (delist and re-rookie does seem like a posability)
Gilligan (rookie)
Polak (rookie)
Roberts (rookie)

If this is going to be the norm this year. A club like ours might sit back and evaluate other clubs delistings. Thus the more clubs that take only 3 or 4 picks in this years draft, the higher up the proverbial pecking order our picks shall rise. :)

I reckon if you are hoping for 8 or more changes to the senior list you are going to be disappointed

As I've said before how many changes to the senior list will depend on what they do with rookies. Promote rookies and I don't think you'll have more than 4 picks in the draft

I reckon 5 changes at senior list level is most likely and perhaps 1 or 2 at rookie level

The recruiting department has more resources. Which would you prefer try new players or stick with some players that you know are not quite upto it because of the compromised draft?

Polo you would think is gone given he's been dropped this week.

Nahas the other one dropped and in danger. Will his contract save him as his trade value would be close to zilch?

Mine goneskies are close to yours Magic....

Simmonds (ret.)
Polo
Thomson
Hislop
McMahon
Polak#
Gourdis#
Roberts#
Gilligan#

Leaves us with 4 picks in the National draft (eg: 4, 27, 44, 61 if we finish last) and one in the PSD. Four rookie picks though.

King should go too but I've got a feeling Dimma will keep him on for the short-term until a cub is ready to replace him for good.

Cuz could still decide to retire but on current form there's a spot for him for another year.

Any more picks will come down to trades: Polo, Nahas for late picks since to Raines last year? GC could pick up Polo for nothing though as he's uncontracted.

That's fairly conservative but unless say GC is willing to cough up a decent-to-high pick for say McGaune then we aren't in a strong trading position.
