Tigers vs Crows game thread
« on: July 28, 2010, 07:15:26 PM »
The AFL site is tipping Adelaide ....

QUESTION MARKS
Can the Tigers re-light the fire? The Jack Riewoldt-led recovery had the Tiger Army dreaming of better days - was it a false dawn?
Can Adelaide deal with expectation? The Crows played well when the season seemed lost, but crumbled just when finals started to come back into the picture.

WHO WILL WIN AND WHY?
Neither team showed much last week, so it will be down to who can get back on the horse the quickest. Graham Johncock is a big loss for Adelaide who will also be missing Andrew McLeod and, most likely, skipper Simon Goodwin. The start will be vital and you fancy if the Tiges can bounce out of the blocks they’ll go on with it, but the Crows get the nod on the proviso last week was a blip on the radar and not the start of a trend.

PREDICTION:
Adelaide by 11 points.

No Edwards McLeod Johncock and Goodwin will help our chances but Adelaide love to play us and if we can't control the midfield and Tippett we will be in severe trouble. Would love to beat the crows hate them with a passion

I just want to see a return to competitive football.

There is still a massive gulf between our best and worst football.

Dimma on the game this week.....

The Tigers host Adelaide at the MCG on Sunday.

“They’re a very well-structured side, they play a disciplined brand of footy and it will be a really good test for our guys come Sunday,” the coach said.

“The main thing we’re looking forward to is challenging ourselves against another side who, at the bottom end of the ladder, is a very good side and could quite possibly play finals footy. It will be a great test for our guys.”

Heavy losses to North Melbourne and Collingwood in the past fortnight have burst Richmond’s bubble somewhat, but Hardwick felt some correctable errors from his young side had contributed to both losses.

Those defeats extinguished Richmond’s faint finals chances, but Hardwick will be looking at his team very closely in the remaining weeks of the season.

“We think it would be disappointing if we went back into our shells and played the way we did at the start of the year so that’s been a real driving force of ours,” he said.

“We’ve had our form ladder from round nine onwards and I think we’re on an even ledger at the moment so we just really want to keep our heads above water on that.

“It’s a real character builder for them to see how they finish off the year. We’ll keep putting our processes in place and hopefully get the desired results over the next four or five weeks.”

GRRR! Turn overs, little bodies, dumb decisions, rucks, umpires, Jack trying to take spekkies, etc! This will get ugly today!

Teams have worked out - stop Jack and stop Richmond... It is like Richo all over again, a combination of no other real presence up there and midfielders just bombing it to him

Amazing that the Coleman medalist could possibly come from the team that has the lowest number of points scored and that alone shows the unbalance down there at the minute

Can anyone remember a more inept display at kicking for goal...good on ya crows.

Cant believe we are now in front as there were times I wanted to gouge my eyes out.

The win would have to be in the bag now with Jack's goal

This is not, before the argument even begins, a meaningless win! None have been this year!
