Richmond midfielder Richard Tambling will miss the remainder of the 2010 season with a hip injury.

Tambling will have surgery on Monday, and is expected to recover in time for the Tigers’ summer training program.

The 24-year-old has played 13 games this season for a total of 108 in his career so far.

Tambling joins Nathan Foley, Ben Griffiths, Adam Thomson and Tom Hislop with season-ending injuries in 2010.

Good move. If ever a bloke needs a full pre-season it is Richie.

;D

If Richie has been carrying the hip all year it would explain his drop off this season. Agree with FFV that it's a smart move to put Blingers in cotton wool and get him right to go for the preseason.

Is there any other player in the side that's sore? Put them in cotton wool as well.

we will

the target is to have the whole squad fit and firing for the first day of pre-season training.

Expect a heap more season ending surgeries in the next couple of weeks

Prudent planning

Like most Tiger supporters with a pair of eyes in their head, I realized long ago that after 6 seasons and 108 mostly forgettable games this bloke is just no good.
But by all means let's hold onto him a bit longer, until his value on the open market is as negligable as his value to our team....

Disagree with on a couple of things there mate.
I Reckon only about 10% of tiger fans thinks he's "no good" as you state.
I still think Tambling still has time on his side to be one of the Richmond greats.
If Hardwick has big plans for Richie. Then your comments also show a bit of disrespect for Dimma.
If I may ask out of curiosity, How many games of Senior footy have you ever played?

How many games RR has played is irrelevant and though I think "no good" is harsh there is no possibility of Tambling being a great player as I would use the term, servicable or foot soldier, not great
