What do mean by selfish things WP? Are you referring to players taking the game on or something else?
Got it in one al.
I appreciate that when someone takes an the game and it comes off it's great
However, the question is when should you do it
BUT when you decide to take someone on and you have no chance at winning that contest and you have a team mate in a better position to receive a handball or a kick that going to get your team into an attacking position then it is IMHO totally unacceptable because it isn't team orientated it is simply bloody SELFISH
That's cool WP and makes a lot of sense.
It is actually the part of his game that I like the most. For a kid who's about to play his 24th game I feel it's great that he will back himself. Lots of learning to be done and I thought DH was all for players playing their natural game. He stuffs up on occasion but if he can get experience and learn how to play like he wants to then he will be a weapon. Frankly I get really sick of overly cautious percentage football.
Eventually, if he shows he is not going to learn, then he will be tossed and rightly so. Even so the time is absolutely perfect for him right now, to try to learn how to take them on.
The kid has played few games and not many of them have been consecutive. He has some skill and obvious talent. In my opinion I'd give him a little more time to see if he can smooth off the rough edges.
PS. I just found the post in the Jamie O'Reilly thread where you answer my direct question about him. Thanks for taking the time to answer.
