I think Matthew White proved many people wrong this year (including myself).

My guess is that he will start 2011 as part of our best 22.

You always wonder though.....would Matt get a game at another club ?

showed a bit of improvement this year, but still has a way to go. His pace and ability to keep his feet in the contest means that he hardly ever loses one on ones for the ball which is a valuable commodity. Showed that he can be creative with the ball but still some of his disposal is cringe-worthy, particularly set shots for goal.

Has shown enough improvement and upside to persevere with but needs to continue to improve and become a bit more consistent. If he goes backwards next year for whatever reason it will probably be his last. I reckon the club would take an appropriate trade for him but I doubt he would be shopped around in an effort just to be rid of him.

Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Showed some improvement under Hardwick which is a good sign but I think he will only ever be a good squad player and isn't in our best 22.  Having said that, no team can sustain a premiership-winning season without their Matt Whites so I wouldn't be ditching him just yet, he deserves at least one more year to see if there is any further improvement in him.

I thought he showed marked improvement in 2010

think he is easily in our best 22

He and Kingy have the small forwards role (especially the F50 defensive pressure) down pat

However, would love to see him spend more time in the mid-field - just think it is worth considering

NB: I've always been a Matty White fan

Fair year but too inconsistent for mine.
His bad games are real bad, and his good games are real good.
Really needs consistency in his game

His bad games are real bad, and his good games are real good.

Then he is definitely on "par" with so many other players in the comp then isn't he  :thumbsup

His bad games he has little impact on game.
Would struggle to get a game at another club as a previous poster has queried
I like Matty White though :thumbsup

need Matty White in case Foley doesnt come up which by the sounds of things doesn't look good at all. Hopefully he gets it right.

according to Foley "he was not even close to playing this year at all"

For me Whitey's inconsistency can partly be explained because he is a finisher in the side rather than a nuts and bolts rack disposals up ballwinner. His best efforts this year have mostly coincided with our better competitive games and wins as a team. When the side is up and about then finishers like Whitey come more into the game; whereas when a team is struggling and their main ballwinners aren't getting their hands on the pill then the finishers become virtual spectators. Whitey still has other flaws such as his inconsistent disposal but I'd reckon as we become a stronger and more consistent side then the likes of Whitey should also become more consistent.

Good player in an ordinary side and an ordinary player in a good side. Depth player if we get ourselves into the top 4 - at best.

I think he means;

1/ He shouldn't have played at all this year - why they played him in stose couple of games beggars belief
2/ Therefore, he wasnt even close to playing for the entire season
