Lions investigate Brendan Fevola complaint as AFL star's future hangs in balance

BRENDAN Fevola's career hangs in the balance with the Brisbane Lions investigating accusations of improper conduct by the star full forward.

The Courier-Mail can reveal a member of the public has lodged a formal complaint with the Lions following Fevola's alleged behaviour at an AFL family day in Brisbane over the weekend.

If found guilty, the controversial Fevola is almost certain to have his $700,000-a-season deal torn up by the Lions.

It is understood Queensland police and the AFL have been notified of the alleged incident.

The Brisbane Lions will be putting out a statement in relation to Fevola this afternoon.

The 29-year-old Fevola met with Lions powerbrokers this morning to tell his side of the story.

The Lions are taking the allegations seriously but have pledged to conduct a thorough investigation because Fevola has previously been the subject of a series of false accusations.

Brisbane press conference at 3.30pm

If this allegation is true then Fev could be axed by the Lions.

this has happened a couple of days to late.
plays would be surely already thinking of leaving due to the lions salary problems. releasing fev would free it up somewhat you would think.

Yep this can kill two birds with one stone. The Lions now have an out to get rid of Fev the idiot and free up some salary cap space to prevent any further players that are actually part of their future walking out. As you say T101 it's all too late for Rischitelli.

Fev is also going to be charged over his drunken antics at the Brownlow last year.......

Lions investigate Brendan Fevola complaint as AFL star's future hangs in balance
Anthony Dowsley
The Courier-Mail
September 09, 2010

BRENDAN Fevola allegedly exposed himself to a married mother of four after luring her to a car with the promise of a free football for her children.

As the disgraced star's career teeters on the brink, the Herald Sun can also reveal he is set to be charged within days over his boozy Brownlow bender a year ago that sent his life into freefall.

There is more bad news ahead for Fevola with the footy bad-boy set to be charged over his drunken rampage at last year's Brownlow Medal count.

Victoria Police spokeswoman Karla Dennis said: "A 29-year-old Queensland man is yet to be charged over an incident in Melbourne in September last year."

Asked whether the man would be charged, she said: "That's the intention".

Any charge would be need to be laid in the next 12 days

In a day of drama for Fevola:

BRISBANE insiders claimed that the club had begun com-piling a "dirt file" on Fevola to justify moves to sack him.

LIONS bosses banned him from attending tonight's club best and fairest count.

TWO other women came forward alleging seedy confrontations with Fevola in bars in Melbourne and Brisbane.

IT emerged Fevola was set to earn $950,000 in each of the next two AFL seasons.
