A small group of Hawthorn players have confirmed with Club officials they were involved in an altercation with a group of young males in Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn on Tuesday morning.

A young male involved in the scuffle reported the incident to police who have reviewed CCTV footage from the Glenferrie Road McDonalds, where the incident took place, and dismissed the assault allegations against any of the Hawthorn players present.

Glenferrie Road McDonalds staff members have confirmed the group of Hawthorn players were set upon outside the restaurant after a verbal altercation with a number of their group inside moments earlier.

McDonalds staff have also confirmed Hawthorn players did not instigate the altercation.

Hawthorn Football Club has no further comment to make regarding this incident and has been advised by Victoria Police that no further action is to be taken.
