Good story at Windy Hill.
The day that Knights got the flick, there Cricket Club sacked there Coach Ritchie Robinson, he was only 6 weeks into his role.
Whats next there, they sack the Clubs lawn Bowls coach

SEN saying there's been a massive plunge in the betting for the Essendon coaching job on James Hird.

It would be surprising to see Matthews working for Hawthorn's archenemy given how much he and the Hawks hated Essendon in the 80s.

If Hird does a Voss as coach then it'll be a good thing lol.

Is there any reason why this is so? has someone seen Hird meeting with bombers board members or something.

Mike and Healy 'On the Couch' asked Hird about coaching Essendon next year and Hird got all prickly and said he's answered this question at least 10 times the same way in the past 6 weeks and he has nothing to add to it. Mike pushed harder for a definite "no" but Hird refused to rule it out completely so the rumour mill will keep on growing.

why doesnt he just either say no and rule him self out so they stop asking or just say yes i would like to be the coach and is run for the job and will wait to see if his selected by the board.

From Tim Goossage's twitter page:

"James Hird interviewed at Essendon on Tuesday... my Bomber spy says absolutely yes."

THE romantic prospect of James Hird returning to Essendon in a senior coaching role now looks certain to become a reality, with the club legend considering his business and family commitments as the Bombers piece together a new off-field football structure for the embattled club.
