It'll boost memberships if Hird coaches, but i hope he turns out to be a Tim Watson.

Whispers on 3aw saying Dean Laidley is going to be interviewed tomorrow for the senior gig. Hird to be his assistant coach and heir apparent. Simon Goodwin to also join the new Bombers' coaching staff.

Sounds like you're right Howler.

Former premiership teammates of Hird insisted on Saturday that a three-man ticket had succeeded. Those three men are believed to be Hird, Williams and Dean Wallis, who has quit as an assistant coach at Fremantle and returned to Melbourne.

One former Essendon player insisted some board members wanted Williams to coach for two years with Hird as an assistant.

Instead, Hird will take the reins from day one with the former Port Adelaide premiership coach as his assistant.

''It's a done deal,'' the former Essendon player said at a post-grand final function on Saturday night.

Actually does this make Leigh a liar? Seeing he was asked last week if was interested and he said he WOULDN'T be coaching Essendon or anyone else in 2011

Has the thought crossed your mind that perhaps he was there to give them some advice on what to look for when choosing their next coach

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Yahweh? or the great Clawski?

i am sick of discussing things with you, absolute waste of time.
They sort him out for discussion, it would be stupid of them not to explore all options.
Essendon will announce there coach at ther B & F, whenever that is
