Favourite highlight of the year?
« on: September 21, 2010, 01:30:55 PM »
The RFC site is asking supporters to vote for their individual Tiger highlight of the Year....

http://www.richmondfc.com.au/roarvision/tigertakesoftheyear2010/tabid/13530/default.aspx

The 10 nominations for the 2010 Tiger Take of the Year are:

Brett Deledio goal - Round 3 v Sydney, MCG
During the last quarter, Deledio receives a handball from Ben Cousins, takes a bounce and launches a long bomb from the centre circle, which bounces through.

Mitch Morton goal – Round 4 v Melbourne, MCG
Cramped against the boundary line 50m out and under pressure, Morton’s right foot snap miraculously floats through.

Jack Riewoldt goal – Round 10 v Port Adelaide, AAMI Stadium
In shocking conditions at AAMI Stadium, Riewoldt pounces on the loose ball and attempts an audacious soccer off the ground, which loops two Port Adelaide defenders.

Jack Riewoldt mark – Round 11 v St Kilda, Etihad Stadium
Riewoldt’s huge grab over St Kilda’s Sam Gilbert was nominated for the AFL’s mark of the year.

Dustin Martin goal – Round 12 v West Coast, MCG
After being tackled by two Eagles defenders, Martin follows up, fends off Scott Selwood with his left hand and snaps truly with his right boot from 40m.

Shane Edwards goal – Round 13 v Brisbane, GABBA
After a long bomb from Mitch Farmer, Edwards spoils Travis Johnstone in the goal square, dances around two Brisbane defenders and snaps a goal.

Jack Riewoldt mark – Round 14 v Sydney, MCG
Riewoldt is involved in a marking contest, 30m out in the forward pocket, then doubles back to the goal square to take a towering chest mark over Nick Smith.

Chris Newman goal – Round 14 v Sydney, MCG
Newman receives a handball from Ben Griffiths near the wing, changes his mind about bombing it long, sprints to 50m and drills a team-lifting goal.

Matthew White goal – Round 22 v Port Adelaide, Etihad Stadium
White causes a turnover 60m out, paddles to his own advantage and slots a goal from near the boundary line.

Robin Nahas goal – Round 22 v Port Adelaide, Etihad Stadium
Nahas receives a handball behind the centre circle, receives it back and has his shot at goal smothered, but follows up, gathers the loose ball and snaps from 30m out.

Newman's goal against the Hawks in the last quarter when he grabbed his jumper after kicking it - inspiring stuff  :thumbsup

To be honest none of the above....For me the quintessential Richmond moment of 2010 was Dustin Martins match winning goal against Freo in Rd 15.Four wins in a row and the peak of the Richmond revival.

If I had to choose one from the list it would be Reiwoldts mark against Sydney.I love hearing the "ARRRRRRRRRRRRR" by David Schwarz (the special comments man).
