Rate a Tiger's year - 19. Daniel Connors?
« on: September 26, 2010, 10:36:38 PM »
Dan began 2010 in the starting 22 before the drunken Sydney Hotel fracas resulted in him being suspended for 8 weeks with the Club sending him away think about his commitment to AFL footy and getting his life off-field in order. Connors came straight back into the side after the 8 week hiatus and played every remaining game highlighted by a 35 possession and 3 Brownlow vote effort against the Dockers in round 15. He also racked up 30 disposals against North the following week and had 20+ possessions in all matches except the Eagles in round 12 and Collingwood in round 17.

Career so far:

I reckon that's very harsh claw. He had some games where his dsiposal was a bit sloppy. But i reckon he was a big part of our form turn-around.35 touches and three brownlow votes isnt bad.
A most encouraging season for mine. I gave him an 8 :thumbsup

Showed that he knows how to get the pill, even in difficult situations. Plays with a natural flair but is still learning what he can and can't get away with at this level. I dont mind seeing those sort of mistakes as long as the player does learn.

Kicking can be good but at other times just blazes away. It's like he gets a surge of adrenalin and runs on instinct. That helps him get the ball, but not use it properly (a la Rodan). That needs to be rectified for him to become a long term player of any note.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

Morton's position doesn't exist any more under Hardwick's plan
Otherwise Morton would be playing it

Is that right? I thought Morton wanted to play midfield and he specifically asked and that's why they sent him back to Coburg to learn. I didn't think it was Hardwicks idea or anything to do with Morton's old position no longer existing.

Hardwick did say that the role Morton was playing was obsolete.
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways my ways,” says the Lord.

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are my ways higher than your ways,
And my thoughts than your thoughts."

There skill still be mid size players in the forward line

I'd like to see our more skillful players rotate in the forward line; deledio, Connors, Taylor etc.

If we can get thr ball there

6 from me. Just.

Needs to keep working damn hard on his game and fitness to cement his position in the side.

Don't believe the hype Daniel.

has talent but lots of flaws to fix both physical and mental. Unfit, lazy, high opinion of himself and his football. Has good kicking technique but bc of his lack of conditioning and inherent laziness/ego gets nonchelant and butchers the ball far too much.

not a pass for mine
