Your trade week expectations?
« on: October 04, 2010, 05:32:54 AM »
Trade week starts tomorrow. What are your expectations for the trade period?

What would be a reasonable and realistic trade week for us?

Hopefully we come away from trade week with more picks in the Top 30 than we started with, another Top 15 pick would be brilliant
No trading away of any picks earlier than 45ish

Fingers crossed anyway

I agree with Infamy...and CUB

No trading away any pick less than 30 and hopefully picking up another pick in the top 15 to 30.

If we're going to use 4 ND picks, that they all be under 30.

Grigg, Sherman, Houli, I am all happy with, but for minimal cost.
And you may not think I care for you

Grigg <-> Thurstfield
Tambling <-> St.Kilda for Pick 15 (Armitage to Gold Coast for Pick 15)
Houli Pre Season Draft

Ins: Pick 15, Grigg and Houli
Outs Tambling, Thursfield

Thats a win in trade week for RFC.

A pick from 15-20 for Tambling and another couple somewhere between 25-45 to be realistic.

No trading away picks for players already in the system.

Use the draft as we did last year and pick kids.

I know we have had a few retirees already and a couple of obvious delistings on the horizon. Would love

to see a turnover of at least 12 players minimum again.

tambo swap for sherman
thursty swap for good draft pick

that'll do me. We can live without grigg, houli and miller  8)

Spot on Tucker.

Personally think we should be really aggressive about getting something inside Top 15 for Tambo, 24 yo, quick with 100 games under his belt. Can see him being very good in a very good side. Struggles on a crap list.

The revelation last year was seeing a good standard from the likes of Nason, Webberley, Farmer and Astbury - all picks beyond 30 and only Farmer was from another AFL club.

Add Dusty and Griffo to get 6 good ins to our list from LY.

Need that again and trading for 4 picks inside the Top 30 would be a nice start.

delist/retirees 8-9
get some draft picks for tambling, thursfield and mcguane, get grigg for a 3rd rounder, get houli in psd. end up with 4-5 picks inside 40.

For us to make a complete disaster of it so everyone has something to complain about thereby keeping the forum active during the "off-season"

 :rollin

Seriously, to trade up in the draft a pick between say 15-28 and then off loading pick 36 that was 29 for Sherman.... that's should be enough to get the party started so to speak  ;D

I don't care to be honest - not today anyway - bad day 2day

NOT TO TRADE ANY DRAFT PICKS!

Trade:

Thursfield - 2nd Round Pick to (any one of) Fremantle, Carlton
Tambling - 1st Round Pick to (any one of) St Kilda, Adelaide, Western

Other Trades:

Polo - 8th Round Pick to Sydney (?)
Nahas - 5th Round Pick to Western (?)
McGuane - 2nd/3rd Round Pick to Brisbane or Carlton (?)

Swap:

Grigg for McGuane (?)

Houli for Tambling + 1st/2nd Round Pick (?)

Grigg - Through PSD. (stuff Carlton!)
Houli - Through PSD. (stuff Essendon!)

my expectations: (based on our previous dealings in trade week) some has-been donkey in the twilight of their career to bring in some "experience" to the team who will be de-listed this time next year, in exchange for our 2nd round pick. we might also get a player who hasn't gone anywhere in their career but has some sort of "talent", in exchange for both Tambling and Thursfield.

what i hope to see: both Tambling and Thursfield traded in exchange for high draft picks, and maybe Brad Miller so long as he's VFL only and his role is only mentoring. Sherman and Houli seem ok, but only if we can get them for a 3rd round pick or later.
Push up!

Must not under any circumstances trade away our early draft picks. Get early draft picks for Tambling and Thursfield

Polo - 8th Round Pick to Sydney (?)

LOL. Might as well delist him and let them have him for nothing, save everyone the trouble.  ;D

Not that I'm saying your assessment of his worth is incorrect.
