Rate a Tiger's year - 3. Brett Deledio?
« on: October 16, 2010, 06:00:47 AM »
Next up is Lids.

For the third year in succession, Lids played all 22 games in the season to take his career tally to 128 matches. This makes him now the third most experienced player on our list behind Newman and Tuck. As a half-back, Lids reached 30 or more disposals on four occasions with his best effort against Hawthorn in round 8 where he had 35. All but two matches were above 20 possessions (lowest 18 vs Melb R19). Lids finished the season runners-up in the B&F and was selected in the initial 40-man All-Australian squad.

Career so far....
Games     Disposals   Marks    Tackles    G.B (total)
2005:     22            15.3         3.9       1.7         14.10
2006:     21            18.8         6.5       1.7           5.12
2007:     19            18.4         5.4       1.9         21.10
2008:     22            24.5         7.0       2.2         28.10

Wonderful year from lids and by far his most consistent as he had 2 "bad" games all season i thought. One part of lids that often is forgotten as one eyed mentioned is his durability and ability to play 22 games a season which is incredibly vital. Gave him an 8. Know many on here dont agree but i think for him and the team to move to the top echelon status in this league we need his class and match winning ability around the ball. Would love to see lids kicking a 15-20+ goals a year :thumbsup

His last quarter against Adelaide showed exactly what he is capable of.

Look forward to seeing more of it.

Gave him a 9 but wanted to give him an 8.5.  Good year from Lids but still room for improvement.

he's being funny but not "haha"
It's that simple Spud
"I discussed (it) with my three daughters, my wife and my 82-year-old mum, because it has really affected me … If those comments … were made about one of my daughters, it would make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I would not have liked it at all.”

I'd give Lids an 8.5.
His season was right up there with Jack's IMO.
Contested marking and disposal a delight off HB. Goddard like.
Think Dimma uses him beautifully & thought it was Brett's best year at Richmond so far.

I thought this year was far better than the 2 previous when he won the Jack.  I gave him an 8.

TM..care to elaborate why you think it was nothing exciting and only a 5.  What are you judging him against?
