Surely he Can't be dead... (anyone know the next line?)

RIP Leslie. You gave me a heap of laughs over the years from Flying High and Police squad to the Naked Gun series. You will be missed

RIP Leslie Nielson

So many laughs - who could forget him Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty in the Golden Girls swapping one liners 20 odd years ago

IMHO: not a great comedic actor

Simply he was a GREAT actor

A couple of his lesser known roles were as "Buzz" Brighton, the ring-banging Colonel in M*A*S*H, who Hawkeye and Trapper conspired to keep in hospital because of his troops high mortality rate on the battlefield.

And in a non-comedic role he played one of the astronauts in the 1950's Sci-Fi adventure "Forbidden Planet" (that's the one with Robbie the robot.)

I watched Flying High last night again and laughed all the way through. My favourite line:

Ted Striker: I flew single engine fighters in the Air Force, but this plane has four engines. It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether.
Rumack, Randy: [together] It's an entirely different kind of flying.

One I didn't really get:

Rumack: What was it we had for dinner tonight?
Elaine Dickinson: Well, we had a choice of steak or fish.
Rumack: Yes, yes, I remember, I had lasagna.

Don't understand the punchline, maybe I am extremely stupid, what is funny about that?
