Tigers delight youngsters at Monash Children's
December 22, 2010

Monash Children's was a sea of yellow and black as players from the Richmond Football Club called in for a Christmas visit.

Led by captain Chris Newman, players Trent Cotchin, Nathan Foley and Tyrone Vickery stopped by the Monash Children's Cancer Centre where they delighted young patients with gift bags. They also participated in a footy clinic and even an imaginary tea party.

Next stop was at 42 North for a chance to show off their arts and crafts skills. They didn't disappoint with Tiger Chris Newman taking up the colouring-in competition.

The players spent time talking to families and signing autograph after autograph before visiting children at their bedsides.

Monash Children's Medical Director Nick Freezer thanked the Tigers for putting a smile on the faces of so many patients and families.

"This is the second time the Tigers have visited Monash Children's this year," Professor Freezer said.

"Having spoken to the families here, I know these types of visits really do make a difference. We look forward to seeing them here again next year."
