Not convinced about that team their claw. Missing a few key personale and including some that are undeserving.

Whether people like it or not McGuane is our best tall defender atm. Post has not kicked a goal in anger, Dea & O'Rielly not even in contention and Newman & Lids training all preseason across HB. We, like every other team in the league, are extremely unlikely to have a second ruck on the bench - more likely to have one resting as a tall forward.

So given all that - this is my lineup:

B/ Batchelor  - McGuane  -  Moore.
HB/ Deledio - Astbury  -  Newman
C/ Edwards - Jackson  -  Martin.
HF/ Morton - Vickery  - Houli.
F/ Vickery - Riewoldt - King.
R/ Graham - Cotchin  - Foley.
Int/ Derickx - Connors - Grigg -
Sub/ Tuck

Emergencies: Taylor, Conca, Derickx, Thursfield,

McGuane is an average at best player. Schulz made him look stupid in that 3-1 conest the other night. Astbury is a better player. We badly need to upgrade on McGuane otherwise we'll be staying bottom 4 for a while

My Team v Hawthorn ... THROW THEM TO THE WOLVES!

Batchelor, Grimes, Dea

Connors, McGuane, Grigg

Conca, Helbig, White

Morton, Astbury, Macdonald

Nahas, Vickery, Miller

Brown, Foley, Jackson

Graham, King, Rance, Thursfield, Farmer

Tuck (S)

Would Not Play:

Deledio, Martin, Cotchin, Houli, Newman

Play our possible full strength team next weekend.

Give our average to OK players a real opportunity against them.

Franklin, Mitchell, Roughead, Rioli i would get a cub to play on!

It is a practice match!

Rather see as full a streght side this week as possible as you dont know who or where we play next. Never know our last game could be against GWS and what sort of hitout would that be going into R1. Blow the cobwebs out while we can.

Good news, Port Power have got GWS in the last round of praccy games.

PORT Adelaide coach Matthew Primus has lamented the timing of Port Adelaide's likely clash with Greater Western Sydney next weekend, saying it was not an ideal preparation for his team on the eve of round one.

Thank gawd for that! Hopefully our finally game is in Melbourne so we don't have to travel again before round 1.

Lids will have to have a run this week torch as he hasn't played a preseason game yet.

We badly need to upgrade on McGuane otherwise we'll be staying bottom 4 for a while
The thing is both yourself Davey and Stripes are probably both right. Lukey is probably first choice because others like Goo haven't come on and gone past him. Kel has done a decent job on Buddy in the past but he's not playing.

B:   Farmer      McGuane    Grimes
HB: Deledio      Astbury    Newman
C:   Grigg         Martin      Morton
HF: Helbig        Miller       Houli
F:   Nahas        Vickery      Tuck
R: Graham       Cotchin      Foley
Int: Browne      Connors     Jackson
Sub: Rance

Emg: Thursfield, King, Conca, Batchelor, White, MacDonald, Dea

Conca and Batchelor have played all preseason games so far so it wouldn't surprise me if they were rested.
