Most important game of the year, no place for sentiment

It cost us last year when he wasn't right to play. Can't afford the same mistake this time.

And I reckon his 20 odd touches on the weekend are mighty misleading
Played pretty well on the weekend WP.
Has been a very good player and servant of our club for a long time. I cannot believe peoples comments on a bloke like Newy. Has bled yellow and black for 250 games and deserves his spot in our side at the moment.  If Gordon and Pettard are getting a game then Newy should be too. IMO of course.

bt, understand your point but I don't think we can afford to get all sentimental like we did with him last year in the final.

If he isn't fit to go then he should miss. Ditto any other player

As for Sunday, his disposal at times was pretty average (granted wasnt alone on that one  ;D) and he again looked slow. Which has been the biggest knock a lot of us have had on him this year

Kicks one OTF per game, still doesn't win much of his own ball, cheap possessions usually in space and still manages to miss targets.

Had two this week, he's getting worse

It's funny how differently people see the same player in the same game.
Might be hard to believe but he is still one of the quickest over 10 at the club.
If he is fit he plays, pretty simple really  :cheers

If he does play, I only hope if he takes the kick outs, he kicks it to the advantage of his team mates not the opposistion :banghead

If it was Richo playing 250, everyone would be up and about.

it's Newman tho.

See how that works....

If he's held in as high regard as what is reported, hopefully they'll get up for him

if any one here was honest after watching the syd game they would agree we made a mistake offering newy another yr. imo he has kept us from giving the likes of dea and helbig a game.

hes not a fwd or a mid and we just dont get enough out of him and the errors are becoming a real problem. and imo we are at a stage where we need to play the younger blokes in his stead.
this is another example of the club failing to make hard decisions which in this case should not be a hard call to make.

we enter into the first uncompromised draft in yrs yet i can see us useing just 3 nd picks.
