Summary

* A great night last Wednesday. BT and Richo did a great job as MC. Great to have so many of the Richmond faithful there.

* Always a big test the first round - past 3 have been 1 good; two bad. Hopefully we can turn the tables on Carlton Thursday night.

* Great follow up from the night. People who were there putting their hand in their pocket again and others who weren't ringing about info to donate.

* Internally we know the journey we are on but obviously for our fans it's important we come to play and have a good performance.

* Likely to be 10 different players to round 1 last year.

* We are trying to get those flogging out of our system this year which is was why Dimma was so disappointed about the Adelaide game. We tinkered with players and loadings leading into those preseason games so we're expecting a much better effort on Thursday night.

* Never say never about finals but where we are at a lot would have to go our way. We'll be tested if we cop injuries due to our lack of depth being such a young side. Everyone agreed we can have a good year without making the finals.

* A big challenge the first 4 rounds so we want to get off to a good start.

* Just got to get games into the kids. Some will play from round 1 while others may not play like Griffiths until round 6. We want to get games into our young talls such as Astbury and Vickery to support Jack. Need to find another key back and another key forward to help out Jack.

* We love to play Carlton in the season opener. Our greatest rival due to late 60s-early 80s. Last 3 season openers have had crowds over 70k so it's great for our kids to get use to playing in front of such big crowds. Great also for us kids to play 4 strong sides in the first 4 rounds and see how much we have improved.

* Social club window design is one area we aren't inaminate about but it's something we'll look at in time. Right now it's just great for our players to have brand new facilities to train in which they have never had before.

* If Gary could have one legend playing in his prime now then it would be KB. He'd also like Royce Hart combining with Jack up forward.
