last nights commentary
« on: March 25, 2011, 08:42:25 AM »
When I go to the footy, I usually listen to 3AW
Last nights commentary was woeful
After listening to David King slag Richmond for the first half, I now know why he isnt employed as a coach anymore.
Anyone at the ground would of known that we were in with a chance at half time and were hanging in there well, considering the amount of times Carlton had the ball, and how close we were on the scoreboard.
Couldnt beleive that Richo actually agreed with David King as well. :help :help :help ::)
All King said was utter garbage.
BT not much better either
At half time I switched over to the ABC
What a difference.
Matty Knights comments were spot on.
Amazing actually.
No garbage, just facts and reality was that the Tigers kicked the next 6 goals

It always amazes me that guys like Wallace and King who had deplorable coaching records, get put on as 'experts' on TV and radio.

If they were such experts, why aren't they still coaching.

I think there were a few nervous commentators on ONEHD during the third quarter, they all went a little quiet.

Listening to matty knights was much better than listening to BT, King and Richo.
Richo agreed with King in the first half.
Knights was calculated and spoke about what would Dimma be doing at the half time break in regards to re structuring etc
All King said was to say how bad we were and a big blow out was about to happen
Anyone at the ground knew we would get back in the game as the law of averages say that they were getting alot of the ball,, and Carlton had overused the ball for little result.

Listen to SEN. EVERYTHING Malthouse said was spot on. His analysis is the best I've ever heard ever.

Took the Christmas present to the footy for the first time.

An iRiver digital radio (half the size if an iPhone) with brilliant reception.

Only problem was that it was a good 3-4 seconds in delay.

It really highlighted how often the commentators get it wrong.

I heard that he was super impressed with Conca?

and that's why he is a premiership coach and king is a washed up assistant. ;)
Couldn't believe the great man Richos take on the game either, spoke about negatives getting flogged etc, should of been saying if Richmond make an adjustment here and there, they are back in the game.
Both he and King said bluntly the game would be a blow and stated the obvious
Most that went to the game new the tigers were half a chance at half time, due to Waite being sub off, and Carlton having plenty of use for just a small lead

one hd commentary was like a carlton love in. Quarterbrain was leading the charge with his emotional enthusiasm when Carlton was on top, and his tempered and measured commentary when we were playing well.

Lloyd was sucked in and started pandering all the special comments their way, but in his defence, he siad some good things about us later in the game.

I am so turned off MMM because off the love fest of Lyon Brayshaw and stupidity of Spud.
Am so turned off by BT who thinks he knows it all.

Yep SEN and 3LO for me. Most unbiased call. They actually call the footy as it is, not the sideshow the others make it out to be thinking their call and antics is more important than the game itself.

Matt Granlan is a great caller. :thumbsup

Lloyd also said that Graham was the best big man on the ground and he was very impressed with him. I have no idea what game he was watching though as it couldnt be the one I was. Lloyd is bad but not Tim Watson bad. YET

I agree regarding MMM - it's a rediculous love fest where they sepnd mos of the call patting themselves on the back and claiming they are the No 1 at this that and everything else. The way their stick their tongues up every players behind that they drag on to the radio with them to talk is downright embarrassing  :chuck

SEN is my choice for the trip home if I can get the reception that is  ::)

With so many new faces it going to take time for Richmond to gel as a unit.

I predict it wont be long before these media maggots start pushing and shoving each other out of the way in order to jump on the tiger bandwagon.
