There's going to be pressure on the Club not to play Jack next week with concussion all in the news.

So should Jack play next week or should we give him the week off?

Astounding that Richmond will be put under pressure about this and yet Lions (Clark) and Carlton (Waite) are not questioned this week.

Tom Harley can get stuffed. Mouthing off saying that Jack handled himself poorly when told he was unfit to return to the field. What a flog, from a  former player and dual premiership player that's a pathetic comment.
Can't believe he expects a player to sit there and smile and nod and say "Sure I will just sit on the pine for the rest of the game" What a knob. Wait till this happens in a GF and see how a player reacts you deadbeat Harley.
Go Tigers!

Forget what Harley said, tv commentators are paid to say in situations such as these what the AFL want to hear and want the masses to think is the norm. I remember in the 2008 Grand Final Harley came back onto the ground groggy after half time. :-\
I would've liked to see his reaction in the 2008 GF if he was told he was unfit to return.
Hypocritical to say the least Tom. Did he make a comment on the pros and cons on Selwood taking a four hour flight to Perth and playing this week?

Jack should, can and will play next week.  :thumbsup

The fact Jack is how he is suggests all the kid wants to do is play footy and he'll be chomping at the bit to get out there next week and make sure he makes a contribution and plays. :bow

I reckon Hardwick made the call on subbing Jack when he started going off.  Message from Damien to Jack - don't put down anyone in your team, player or official, no individual is bigger than the club regardless of how well-meaning your intentions are.

I love what Dimma said post match when asked if he was disappointed with Jack's reaction! He said no, thats what makes Jack a great player, he wanted to be out there and win a game of footy! I would be disappointed if Jack did not want to go back out there!
Personally, if it happened last year, he would come back on! Whether that is the right choice or not is debatable but Hellbig did not let us down!

It's not Hardwick's call.  Its the doctor's call.

EDIT: And watch the presser.  I reckon you're wrong.

Riewoldt expected to face Hawks
richmondfc.com.au

Richmond spearhead Jack Riewoldt is expected to take his place in the Richmond team for Round 3 after recovering well from a head knock in last night’s game against St Kilda.

Riewoldt landed awkwardly in a marking contest during the first quarter and played no further part in the match.

“Jack has pulled up well this morning and is showing no ill-effects from his concussion,” Richmond Elite Performance Manager Matthew Hornsby said.

“We’ll continue to monitor him throughout the week, but at this stage we expect him to play against Hawthorn on Saturday night.”

Riewoldt was seen remonstrating with Richmond’s medical staff during the first half, before being replaced by substitute Brad Helbig.

“Being agitated and emotional are common reactions to concussions, and we’ve seen that on numerous occasions,” Hornsby said.

“The decision by the medical team to not allow him back on the field was absolutely the right one.  In our view he was not fit to see out the match.”

Yeah, I know it's the Doc's call but it's still Hardwick's call on when he decides to sub him.  And as we saw last week, it is a very thick and very gray line between what the medicos say and what the football dept do.  Despite that, I agree with you that the Doc made the call and Hardwick acknowledged that in the press conference but....................I still believe that the story put forward in his press conference about not having a problem with Jack's demeanour will be different to what he thinks and how he deals with it behind the team door.
