Well when we start winning don't bother showing up  8)

Yes, the predictable response when you make a statement like I did. For the record, I'm not some flash-in-the-pan fair weather supporter. Over the last 40 years through great times, but mostly bad in the last 30 I've gone week in week out to virtually every suburban ground in the land, even going regularly to Coburg games. I've sat to the bitter end through some terrible hidings, like the 100 point-plus whopping from North some 20 years ago, and that record-breaking humiliation from Geelong more recently. So I really don't appreciate being told not to show up when we start winning again.

RICHMOND
After their mauling from Hawthorn at the MCG last Saturday, during which Lance Franklin kicked five goals on youngster Dylan Grimes, the Tigers are again on the lookout for key defenders. They can't bring back suspended duo Alex Rance and Luke McGuane for another week, so Will Thursfield and David Gourdis are in the running for a call-up.

Dimma on the midday news said Thursty is seriously in the mix. I think he also said Grimes will keep his spot.

Thursfield set for Richmond return
 April 14, 2011 - 1:50PM

Richmond are set to add tall defender Will Thursfield to their side to play AFL premiers Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night.

Tigers coach Damien Hardwick suggested that Thursfield, who missed the side's 63-point loss to Hawthorn last weekend with an ankle problem, would come in to aid youngster Dylan Grimes.

The pair will have to contend with in-form power forwards Chris Dawes and Travis Cloke.

In just his second senior game Grimes was forced to battle solo against the might of Hawthorn's Lance Franklin last weekend.

"They've got some key talls down there and we'll have our hands full again," Hardwick said.

"Thursfield's available again and he'll be well and truly in the mix selection-wise this week."

Collingwood are unbeaten in three matches and looking ominous in their pursuit of back-to-back flags.

Richmond are without a win this season, but did draw with last season's grand finalists St Kilda a fortnight ago.
