ANZAC Day game - open it up to all clubs?
« on: April 20, 2011, 03:19:21 PM »
The push for change away from always having Coll vs Ess has started.....

Collingwood coach Mick Malthouse admits he's unsure whether the AFL Anzac Day blockbuster should remain exclusively for the Magpies and Essendon.

Sheedy, who helped create the annual Collingwood-Essendon blockbuster at the MCG, wants Anzac Day games in every state.

"To celebrate Anzac Day in every city, the AFL should do it," Sheedy told the Herald Sun.

"It doesn't even have to be home sides - it could be any teams. It would be an insult to the Australian Defence Force if we didn't."

Carlton or Melbourne would be favourites to chase after Mick.

Leave it as Collingwood and Essendon. As much as I hate both clubs, they've been the ones who've put the effort into making the game what it is, and really there's only 2 or 3 other clubs (Us, Carlton and maybe Whorethorn) who could pull anywhere near the same crowd.
Push up!

Agree - pains me to say it but the Pies & Bombers deserve it now

Would we want the Dreamtime game shared around  ??? I reckon all clubs could make an argument for why they should be involved in the Dreamtime game but we started it with the Bombers we should keep it  ;D
