Gold Coast saying they have 14 players out of contract and must lose 6 to 8 for next year.

http://goldcoastfc.com.au/news-and-media/news/contracts-on-the-line-mckenna/

Probably only rubbish disposal but may be able to make a trade (even for a compo pick  ;)) with them for another experienced player.
May actually be a better option than dealing with the Giants.

Worth looking at. I can't see them cutting to many ones that look the goods though. They will probably be only cutting players that look out of there depth and aren't showing they will be able to handle the step up into the AFL. Still could be worth a punt on one of them.

there will be some late developers amongst them for sure. The art is in picking them.

Some of what I was talking about is us trading AWAY players for their picks/players.
They don't really want any more young players surely, unless they're early picks.
Meanwhile they continue to have problems with key backs and ruck.

On the weekend, without Smith, they got 14 hitouts to 67 against Jacobs and Tippett who are hardly leading ruckmen.
Fraser managed 6 hitouts. In comparison Graham got 20 against Jamar and Martin.
While I would prefer we keep Gus, if we are going to trade him out why not to GC?

Similarly with McGuane, who seems surplus to our needs, but would be a big improvement on Joel Tippett who played at fullback for GC on the weekend.
There was a lot of talk last year about trading McGuane to GC for Toy.
I think that trade has improved in our favour over the last 12 months

GC are flush with rucks including gorringe who was a high draft pick.

Agreed that GC are flush with YOUNG rucks but...
Gorringe, Dixon and Lynch have played mainly as key forwards.
Thompson and Tippett as key defenders.

Don't you think if they had better than Fraser they would be playing them?

Real shame about Trengove IMO, I know there are his doubters on this site however I really think in a few years we will be wishing that we pushed for him (behind the scenes) a bit harder.... :-X

Talk on BF that Nahas has signed a HOG with GWS....

Hypothetically if he has. What kind of compensation would we be looking at?

That's what was played out in the thread...I'll link it if I CBF going back, but consensus was based on form, late first/early second rounder, which if banked would give us 4 picks in the top 40 of the 2012 'Mega-Draft'.  :thumbsup

You're pushing your luck a bit Oxy.  >:(

I'd settle for a Scrub board or a Ganges Slaprock.

Tough one because he came up from the rookie list. Would be lucky to get a late 3rd rounder for him I reckon

Expect Nahas to now make a major run for our B&F falling just short in about 3rd place or 4th place. ;D
