GOLD Coast are seriously considering trading the No. 4 pick in this year's National Draft, with Suns coach Guy McKenna saying they needed to find more experienced players.

Don't know why posters are so eager to give up one of midfielders.
The way McKenna has phrased it they are looking for experienced bodies to help out in defence and up forward.
They can have an experienced key defender in McGuane and our first for their number four.
Foley and 14 for pick four and about pick 35 is way too generous.
Look at some of the past trades in 2009 (a clean draft) where Hawthorn gave up picks 9 and 16 for Burgoyne and Carlton gave up pick 11 for McLean.

Someone on a forum put together a list of players who sort of fit within the grigg/houli recruiting mode, included on the list were Taylor Hunt from Geelong and John McCarthy from Collingwood. How do people see these two players.
Dunno about McCarthy but Geelong won't let Hunt go cheaply. He's a good young player.

Post?

I presume you are looking for someone to "post" their thoughts on where GCs pick 4 might end up. Not that you would think that ..... surely..... Not?
“I find it nearly impossible to make those judgments, but he is certainly up there with the really important ones, he is certainly up there with the Francis Bourkes and the Royce Harts and the Kevin Bartlett and the Kevin Sheedys, there is no doubt about that,” Balme said.

How about westhoff + Nason + our compo pick...if that wasnt good enough, Id consider swapping westhoff for astbury

So much for them given the pick to GWS for a spot in the mini-draft.

Cant see how we could get 4. The best we could do is either Post or Astbury + 14.

I thought it was an interesting list and these 2 players at least to me seemed like good fits. Hunt could play in defence and McCarthy could help out in the midfield. Geelong may have salary cap issues, so someone like Hunt may be gettable if he is out of contract.
