Suns want a key forward for their pick 4...

http://www.sportsnewsfirst.com.au/articles/2011/09/16/suns-ready-to-trade-top-pick-for-forward/

"What would help? Danny Stanley helped in our forward line taking the hits, which helped Luke Russell and Brandon Matera late in the season, no different to (Campbell) Brown and (Nathan) Bock down back helping our young defenders get through."

Dunno whether that quote says he wants a forward particularly.
To me it suggests he wants bigger bodies both back and forward.
When you consider that he had Ablett, Rischitelli, Iles and Harris in midfield you see his point.
Considering he was using Rory Thompson (200 cm ruckman/forward) as a key back by years end would suggest a need.
PS I really want a trade for Luke.

I am surprised no one has suggested Brad Miller. Would have thought he would have been top of everyone's list  ;D

Jackson Trengove, who we were linked to before he re-signed with Port, jointly won the Power's B&F with Travis Boak.

But your right. At this early stage the club would be speaking to that many players. I have a sneaky feeling Chaplin or Carlile will be a KPD for the Tigers next year. And Astbury a CHF.

Carlile (sp?) is not an option having just re-signed a fortnight ago

I think its Chaplin personally. Its one of them though has been offered to us. Its a contracted player too.
Chaplin for our compo pick?

Would take that! Chaplin is defiantly the type of back we need!

Hard to see Chaplin leaving Port but getting him would be a big coup. 26 y.o. next year is a fraction on the older side but a 195cm and 100kg key defender fits the bill.

At 26 he is 3 years to old for us IMHO.

Hopefully still has at least 3 years of senior footy ahead. Would be a good transition player for some of our younger defenders IMO.
Thursfield, McGuane and Moore are our senior backs and all are battlers (Moore's battle is injury).

Btw even if Chaplin did want to leave Port and come Richmond, it would cost us more than just a compo pick.
