Richmond's greatest rival?
« on: February 02, 2005, 03:18:43 PM »
Who's the Tiges main rival over the years? Which club gave/gives you the most pleasure beating?

According to the AFL draw it's the Doggies. Where did they pull that from?  ???

I love it when we do the Pies. Nothing better than seeing poor old Pie fans leaving in droves before the final siren and giving them a wave goodbye ;D.

Carlton - Collingwood is an irrelevancy.

Carlton.
I've seen Richmond lose 2 GF's, both to Carlton. >:(
Finding it hard to maintain the rage since Adelaide joined the comp, but I still think they're our biggest rival.

Hate North, but Carlton is the Tiges greatest enemy, although i think before 1969 Collingwood might have been.  Since we started playing off in Grand Finals seems to be more rivalry.

Agree with Carlton. Can we please, please, if we do nothing else, beat this mob this year?

Maybe Essendon?  I just love it when we beat them (which isn't often).

I would say:

Carlton, Collingwood and Essendon in that order

Going by what you read - we seem to be everyone's greatest rival - so many other clubs seem to dislike us with a passion  :rollin :rollin :rollin

20 years ago it was Carlton by a mile but time and their fall from grace over the past few years has softened that stance and with the Pies making back to back GFs their fans have returned to their arrogant and deluded old selves.

Since Wallace has come on board I think they are jealous of all the press and tv coverage we are getting. Sheesh we haven't even played a game yet. It's just fear of hearing the sound of the Tiger reawakening  :thumbsup.

Got it in one MT - while other teams' fans are dreading a Tiger resurgence ;) I reckon the AFL would be rubbing their greedy little hands with glee  :thumbsup

That would be a RFC sponsored Connex Tiger xpress  ;).

Not a bad time to make a resurgence with the TV rights deal coming up for renewal.

Collingwood and Essendon for me.

I can't really gauge an opinion on them because i've never been to a Carlton game and know hardly any of their supporters.

All i can go on is a group of wogs....... er carltion supporters i saw in the city one night after they won, and they weren't THAT bad my wog standards!
