While supporters might see this as another year of growth, Hardwick clearly has high standards.

Richmond takes on premiership contender Fremantle at the MCG this weekend, and he believes the Tigers will begin to win games against quality opponents by season's end.

"The top-four sides trouble us, but we expect to improve over the course of the year and match those sides when we have another opportunity to have a crack at them later in the year," Hardwick said.
