I think you're right there WP. It could even be a month as he had 3 weeks off last time before doing it again straight away  :(.

Moore has a broken jaw and Gilmour an ankle injury
« Reply #47 on: May 18, 2005, 09:59:11 PM »
David Flood in his EOTT Coburg report mentions:

Kelvin Moore: Unbeknown to us, suffered a broken jaw in the first quarter and continued to play on. Was fantastic. The injury has come at the wrong time for him, as his form over the past month has been outstanding.

Alex Gilmour: Started up forward and had a few runs in the midfield, before injuring his ankle early in the second half. Disappointing to lose another good, young player.

Very badly by all reports X - I think it may have been broken in 2 places.

Kelvin Moore   Broken jaw   3 weeks

I saw Kel Moore on Sunday at Coburg - he had just come out of hospital after having his jaw wired :help :o

Doc Larkins
Herald-Sun

Nathan Brown

LEG: Had surgery on Saturday to insert a metal rod in major fracture of right tibia bone. Will be non-weight bearing for three to four weeks and probably wear a cam-walker for up to eight weeks. He will need extensive rehabilitation over the next six months to regain muscle strength and endurance. Has significant soft-tissue and muscle damage around the fracture and is unlikely to do any running in the first four months.

DOC SAYS: In an uncomplicated case with sound healing, no infection and no blood clots, Brown would be expected to return for pre-season in 2006. He is likely to have the metal rod removed prior to playing. Brown's rehabilitation will start with swimming in about a month, followed by the bike and eventually running.

Greg Stafford

ANKLE: "A reasonable chance to get through a fitness test this week. He's missed the past three weeks with the on-going effects of his right ankle injury but is making good progress and is close to selection."

thats strange mt, doc said on the sunday footy show the titatium rod will be inserted inside the bone and remain there 4 life. to get the rod out the bone will have to be rebroken.  who knows which doc larkins to believe

Would be surprised he only had minimal game time for Coburg on Sunday. Maybe 5-10 minutes a quarter

Not sure what's going on there either X as I heard too that the rod was going to remain in his leg. Brendan Lade IIRC still has the rod(s) in his leg.

Rory said he had finger surgery on Sunday after he dislocated his finger and it popped through the skin. So he's a bit iffy even if he retains his spot. He only had 40 minutes on the ground.
