Hogg vs Gaspar - How Do You See It?

This is the 2nd installment of this new OER angle of How Do You See It? (c)  ;D :lol

Jeff Hogg vs Darren Gaspar

Hoggy was a very very good Full Forward IMHO who also spent too much time at Full Back because the truth is we were a complete rabble. He was captain of the club and overall a very capable player. Also got us Broderick and M.Gale.

Gaspar we took from the Sydney Swans. He was great a CHB and was a leading light in an era with limited success.

Both Hogg and Gaspar made great contributions to the RFC, but the question is who was better.

gasper by a mile, I always draw on peer accolades rather than pee talk, he was twice AA + B&F winner such was his place in the comp amongst defenders. I stand to be corrected but what did Hogg ever achieve ::)

Yep Hogg for me. Gas had terrible disposal

good ol Hoggy. Never forget dodging the Blue coats at VFL park as a 10 year old and walking in to the club rooms and first person i see is a Starkers Jeff Hogg right in front of me. I was scarred for life.

Currently a member of the Roupies, and employed by the great man Roup.

Lets see for starters: 10 goals against the Pies in the Mother's Day game

The fact he was as good a defender as he was a forward in a team that was horrible.

Put Jeff Hodd in any champion team of that era and he would have been a champion - he was that good IMHO

The clincher though is that to get Broderick (an out & out champion) we had to trade close to if not our best player in Hogg.
