I agree that Browne is useless but he's still better than Graham. Until the club gets a decent ruck what choice does he have. And please don't use Geez name in vain. It's blasphemy.

Also just back from the game and agree with Tiga and Muscles. No McGuane, No Astbury, No Grimes meant we were in trouble down back from the get go. Moving Millar down there was a stop gap clearly, but its not clearl to me what the alternatives were. Poor kicking from the Swans probably evened out the lopsided free kick count. Also agree that Houli was good for us.
One little snippet that I will relate for those of you not at the game. There was one Richmond player out on the ground well after everybody had left and most of the stands were empty. He was practicing his goal kicking under contested pressure. It was of course Trent Cotchin. You could tell that he was still burning from missing that shot in the last quarter and desperately wants to kick truly next time. I appreciate that this might get me labelled as a brightsider, but this is why I think this club is on the improve.

And why he will be the next captain of our club.  Someone else posted that he had a hard tag applied by the Swans yet he kept getting called on the radio commentary.  I see he had 23 possessions and was named in our bests with a hard tag.  He's a keeper.

In the first half our structural deficiencies were exposed and we had too many passengers which when combined meant the Swans dominated. Fortunately they missed set shots which is bad footy by them and kept us in the game at half-time. We can't knock the effort especially in the second half as we tried hard in conditions that didn't suit a young side. Our lack of size, polish and inexperience showed in heavy conditions. Even in just that 5 minute period where the Swans kicked 3 goals to seal the win - each one was from our mistakes - Kieren Jack kicking the ball out of Rance's hands (I thought that was kicking in danger  ???), Houli and White spoiling each others touch going for the ball and not rushing the behind, and then Nahas' handpass that was too hard and went 20m backwards along the ground straight to a Swans player. Just dumb mistakes we need to cut out of our game as a team before we become a decent side. Sydney are too experienced to let dumb mistakes like those go unpunished.

ps. Not going to blame the umpiring for the loss but they were terrible having watched the game again after it was over. Richmond players mustn't have a head to pay head-high frees to  :scream. All we ask for is consistency Geisch!

When you play sydney you must expect to get shafted by the umps. They are one side that you hardly ever see play and walk away thinking they got hard done by by the umps.

They are pure scum and the umpires must be able to relate to that. :P

Got to 'burgerize' miller from now on.

Time to play post. We have nothing to lose. Get 11 games into him. Bring him on.

With Moore and Grimes out for the year and Astbury out for the month, we need to play Gourdis. Has decent form. Would even give him the 11 games remaining to see how he goes.

Time for pressure to come onto a few of the others. Get some games into some newbies. See how we go.

You would never see an umpire performance like that against us at the G. You'd end up with seats ripped out and flung onto the field, and fires started in the stands.

Really its another loss that should've been 10 goals. Just like the Blues game and about 3 others we lost, the result was never in doubt.

Lets be honest here the games we won were against weak opposition and a loss in Brisbane this week would be close to a bottom 4 finish for us, which is not necessarily a bad result for us. We need some quality and the likes of spuds like Hislop and Edwards doesnt cut if for me. Silky skills is what was bantied around this week...hahahahahaha. Edwards is a reminder of the players Wallet used to recruit.
Like i have said 1 game then 4 bad ones dont make a serviceable player. He has played enough games to be consistent and he has yet to do that. Trade at seasons end while he has some currency.

Miller are we taking the pee by playing him. LMFAO at those on here who thought he played good in Darwin.  :lol
He has kent Kingsley written all over him. stuffin disgrace how we continue to select him.

He is useless and Post must come in, regardless of form

I think you forget what we were saying about Rance last year,  in fact id say he is our best defender out of Mcguane, Astbury and Batchelor. Post might come on, who knows but a rubbish bin is better than Miller.

Houli is becoming a good story.

Conca needs a rest. Played crap.

Stuck in Sydney

I may get home today

Thinking of hiring a car and just driving, was lucky to get into a hotel last night

Terrible day here yesterday

Thank goodness Sidknee cannot kick straight

I agree like with the Carlton game we were very lucky that they didn't kick straight. We are at a stage where we can get beat sides below us except for Port but can't beat the better sides. The only way to beat Sydney is with good skills and to cut out simple errors. We need a quality ruckman. Browne and Graham are not up to it. We might as well start from stratch.  It is only with a good ruckman you will see a significant rise up the ladder. Believe we should bring in Gourdis and Post and try and get a few games into them. We should use the rest of the season to test out which players are going to make it and which aren't. Houli has been a real find.
