Who's a felcher?
Who isn't a fan of the thinking man's orange Tim Fleming?

Pelchen's draft selections from 2005 onwards aren't much to write home about apart from Rioli. If you want to critical he chose Xavier Ellis ahead of Josh Kennedy and Pendlebury, Beau Dowler ahead of Padder Ryder, Mitch Clark and Shaun Higgins, and Mitch Thorpe ahead of Selwood, our Jack, Frawley and Ben Reid. Most of the Hawthorn premiership was already on their list before Pelchen arrived.

Not a great record. Has never had a heap of high picks to chose from though. Some handy pick ups late in the draft. Nothing genius

It's incredible how forgiving the media are of the Hawks' first round flops in 2005 and 2006. Winning a flag with a list already in place before 2005 forgives most recruiting sins it seems. They've also topped up with Burgoyne and Gibson so that's covered the many misses as well.

Agreed he is overrated but he did nab Cyril Rioli at pick 12 which was omitted from the BF list. Has turned out to be a real matchwinner for the Hawks. Turned the 2008 Grand Final in the third quarter.
