No bronze statue of any Tiger at the 'G
« on: June 08, 2011, 05:35:57 AM »
I heard on 3aw last night that the MCC has declared the next bronze statue outside the 'G will be that of Norm Smith. Okay fair enough with the latest choice but does anyone else find it odd that a Club that has been a tenant there for 46 years (and won 5 flags and had many champions of the game during that time including Richo who has kicked the more goals than anyone else at the 'G) has no statue of any former champion or any recognition at our gameday home ground? Imagine a bronze statue of Royce Hart's 1967 GF mark or of KB arms raised after kicking a goal his 7th in the 1980GF.

I find it odd. We should just put them all around our new facility close to where Dyer stands.  ;)

This. Need one of Maurice.

I thought the next statue for the G was going to be of Warnie giving Liz the zooter?

Jack Dyer at Punt Road. 8)

I could see KB with his arms raised MT. That's a Tiger icon for sure.

How about a statue of the greatest number 1 draft pick of all time Richard Lounder.

We can put it leaning on one of the light towers at the Punt Rd End of the ground much like his statuesque effort

out at Waverley leaning on the goalpost all those years ago.

I want one of Neil Balme punching that carlton bloke in the head.  That would be inspiring for the kiddies and it would crack me up no end.

I'd like to see one of Newie and Dimma holding the premiership cup aloft.

A statue of Laurie Fowler flying into that tub of Carlton lard would be nice.
