Agree FNM.  They will get an unexpected side benefit from the trip home and it's value shouldn't be underestimated.

comeon guys - with the rigors of afl football teams complain about 5 day breaks let along being in a bloody bus for 10-11 hours 24hrs after a game. This will wreak havoc with their bodies and recovery especially seeing they are coming off a bye and will be that little bit more sore

Club couldn't help the flight delays. They could have been there for days!  Probably a train would have been better, but I'd expect much is out of their control.  They'll be home soon!

We all know how much JJ loves being able to cristicise the club's actions.

Last night they were saying possibly no flights until Wednesday. The club had to organise something to make sure they got back today, sure its not ideal but atleast it was a certainty so they could then determine the plan for the week ahead.

what rubbish, tell me where its says no flights till wednesday??
Weak as pee the AFL
Virgin , the AFL Carrier had planes leaving Sydney at 7.00am this morning.
They had 8 planes landed from Syd into Melb by 11am today ( please check information on Melb Airport Website
Would of thought RFC would have had priority by Virgin ::)
also,Virgin could of elected to fly at a lower level last night, as Emirates have been doing to New Zealand today.

Jack Riewoldt posted on twitter they were in Wangaratta for 10 mins about an hour ago so the bus must be near Benalla by now.

JJ, I caught the train home last night and fresh as a daisy today....stop the carry on its a BUS for 10 hours its not economy class to europe.

You cant help but make a mountain out of mole hill, just let it be FFS, its becoming tiresome.

They will be fine, no damage done.
