Brisbane Lions have been fined for breaching the AFL's salary cap during the 2010 season.

The AFL has slapped the Lions with a $21,630 fine for an administrative error, which the club voluntarily disclosed once it was discovered.

AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said the club's full co-operation had been taken into account regarding the penalty.

Brisbane said they accepted the sanction.

"Brisbane Lions have implemented a number of additional compliance measures and procedures since last year to ensure future administrative errors are avoided," the club said in a statement on Friday night.

This is the last thing Lions needed.
