I'll play devils advocate and open things right up here. And I know it's not going to happen, however.....

Who here would swap Deledio for:-

A) Roughead and the Hawks first round pick
B) Two GWS picks in the top 10. Say picks 5 and 9.

Is he trade-able for the right price? Are other high profile players also trade-worthy?

Appreciate you looking outside the box DD but I don't think so. Lids is part of our future and players like him is who we should be building around. If we get rid of him now do we then look at doing the same with Cotch in two years and then Martin two years beyond that. We can't keep trying to rebuild all the time by getting draft picks. At some stage we need to stick with a core group of players and build around them.

Lids is one of those players!

Correct, Spock. Thats why we need to pick up some gems from the state leagues and also get our hands on one of GWS' 17yo's.

Lid's, Cotch, Dusty and Jack are the only decent players we have, they all have currency but unfortunately we need them more than any other club.
We shoul have traded Tambling for Franklin last year and told them it was our turn ;D

What Spock is saying is that the coming draft is light on for talent so delisting a heap of spuds to draft another batch of spuds won't work with our past failures at developing young players!

Well then lets change the crap players on my list and our development staff, no point hanging onto either or both.

Yeah maybe a fair call but i think it stems from Wallace and earlier when we no money to spend on the footy dept. and had part time coaches doing the role. I would hope the crew we have now are up to it.

Miller will probably get another year on the rookie list.

wonder if post may get traded?
Cant work out what going on with him.

We would have said the same about Rance last year. Played about 20 games after 3 years on the list. Post will be in the same position after this season. Reckon he's a big part of the future

When you have a surplus of dud talls, McGuane & Thursfield, chronically injured talls, Moorey, i'd be inclined to keep the young ones that maybe need some more development, Post & Gourdis, and get rid of the duds first.

Jackson will survive, I think he is pitching himself as football's own version of Mike Brearley
